Most Potential filled R&B female artist to be also regarded as a Pop artist as well?

I ask this because the last newest female artist to have a huge hit, was Seyvn Streeter

but the problem was she doesn't have the 'Pop' factor about her, which closes her off from having a bigger/better recognition to mainstream pop fans~

So is there any new R&B female that could stand up there with the likes of Rihanna and Beyonce?

the only R&B artist female artist to ever come closest in recent years was Keri Hilson, but she shot her herself in the fucking foot, from her controversy and her taking a long ass (and still going) hiatus.

classic. Why Keri Hilson, why?

So who could be next?

Could Seyvn Streeter reinvent herself as an R&B/Pop Artist?

Could Jhene Aiko be one?

Or could this newbie Tinashe be one? She was in a pop group going Solo, but talking about Pussy, drinking, and weed isnt a good way to start tbh, this song is still banger tho. plus she young and hot.

if not one of these three, who do you think is next?

Ima go with Aiko, I dont really care for Streeter and Tinashe gives me future rap star baby mama thot vibes

but they all fine

Janelle Monae ?

More talented than pretty much anyone else out there. Doing pepsi commercials now. Had some crossover hits. Can play to white and black audiances. Just needs that one mega selling hit tbh.

hmmm...she could be but i figure her age might restrict her abit, she might not appeal to the younger crowd.

oooh she a very good candidate ~

which controversy

I'm afraid I've lived under a rock..

it was Usher fault overall, because she wanted to be featured on Love In This Club Remix, and he chose Beyonce over her(she was in his video as the female lead). That info, coupled with the fact that she made diss track (which was leaked) ppl thought it was about Beyonce.

omg i tried to think Tinashe is a wholesome girl, but some of her mixtape videos, just scream hyper sexual being who gets around, i know its not like forreal, but seriously she gives off that vibe.

i hope not, she doesn't need that kind of notoriety, then she'll never make it out of the lower tier fame.

i edited my post but i'll just post here, here alittle but more insight on the situation

R&B simply isn't mainstream anymore and hasn't been for years.

yea thats why we need an r&b artist that has the pop factor about them ~ to make it more relevant again ~

I feel as if pop music is like super basic right now and a lot of the R&B right now is more underground stuff so it wouldn't really crossover.

I guess thats true if we ignore Beyonce, Pharrell, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Jason Derulo, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, Robin Thicke etc....

Definitely Jhene Aiko. Her sound is different from anything else atm and she already has a decent-sized audience. Her 7-song EP has sold over 230k already which is insane.

Beyonce: ok

Pharrell: more on the pop side to honest

John Legend: he has like that one song that people like so not really

Jason DeRulo: pop act

Bruno Mars: pop act

Chris Brown: dead in the mainstream

Robin Thicke: now a pop act

because R&B can't be seen as pop as well......

You know like Marvin Gaye or Stevie Wonder did'nt make records that topped the charts.

Those acts above are classed by themselves and their record labels as R&B whether you like it or not and they are considered mainstream as well. You know the mainstream R&B that you claim does not exist.

I stand by what I said. This same industry and whatever said Iggy Azalea is a hip hop act when she's a pop act too.
