BTS make other artists insecure?

It's understandable

BTS sells a lot, so the #1 for them is almost guaranteed

If you want a #1 album or at least want it to have some visibily, you would not want to release it when BTS is also releasing something (unless if you're like Adele, Taylor Swift, Drake, etc.)

did you miss when school boy q was just on instagram talking about how his company told him to push his album release back bc bts was dropping?

I always thought school boy q is a nugu Kpop group when I saw the thread title abt how 'he pushed his release because of BTS' on OH lol :derp:

Well they shouldn't be,yes BTS is pulling out numbers but succsess isn't by beating BTS. At this point they have reached a level were you shouldn't take their succsess as a standard, otherwise you will really end up feeling insecure.

If you are able to better your best and make a name out of yourself and have good album sales and chart position your succsessful and should be confident about it.

I don't think that avoiding to release an album at the same time as them will make you have higher album sales, either people are ready to support you or not. If your not Drake, Eminem etc. you won't sell these numbers anyway.

you missed the point, it's about the risk of being overshadowed by the BTS hype and/or missing the chance to get a #1 album

Oh ok, i thought they were talking about sales and such as they were talking about numbers. Well then this actually only goes to still quite unkown acts right? Cause if your big enough you wouldn't feel insecure about them.

no, it goes for anyone who isn't selling +200k on their debut week or doesn't have the same streaming power as BTS but could achieve a good position on charts and/or media hype if avoiding the same release week. maybe you don't know but not everybody has that

Artists can get #1 on BB200 with relatively low sales if it's a slow week overall. Just like how newer idol groups have their best shot at winning music shows when the juggernauts aren't promoting at the same time.

If you're an American artist with a decent following and want the clout that comes with having a top-3 selling album on BB, you definitely want to schedule your releases carefully to maximize your chances.

Now that BTS has shown they can sell alongside the top artists in the US, other artists have to watch out for their release schedules too.
