The YG group that never got to debut.

YG uploaded a video on July 1st 2012 with the caption Future 2NE1 (4 years later)

The plan was that Pink Punk (now Blackpink) were supposed to debut years prior to when they did, with a much bigger lineup and that these 4 younger trainees would debut as the ''Next 2NE1'' in 2016. After awhile, plans were changed and Blackpink debuted in 2016 with 4 members, while Future 2NE1's lineup was adjusted throughout the years since the video was uploaded. The original 4 girls have since left after training for 6 - 10 years.

Lee Seoyeon.

Seoyeon joined YG in 2010 and was given the role of Bom (each members role in the group was based on the members of 2NE1 as suggested in YGFSO. YG was obviously hell bent on creating a ''new'' 2NE1.) After Blackpink's debut in 2016, Seoyeon left the company being the first to do so and since joined Idol School and debuted with her current group Fromis_9.

Park Seoyoung.

Seoyoung joined YG in 2010 and was given the role of Minzy. She left YG in 2017, after 7 years training under the company and then later joined Produce 48 as an individual trainee, but was shortly eliminated in the second round eliminations. Since then she has become active on her Instagram account @royapark

Moon SuA.

SuA joined YG in 2009 and was given the role of CL. She joined Unpretty Rapstar as a trainee in 2015 and after the show, continued to train for another 4 years before leaving in 2019 after a whole 10 years. She's also Astro' Moonbin's younger sister.

Im Sooah

Sooah joined YG in 2010 and was given the role of Dara. Not much was known about her, other than the fact that she was the daughter of a famous musical actress. She left YG only recently after spending 9 years as a trainee. She is currently active on her Instagram account @u_youha

Honestly, I don't get why female trainees stay with YG for so long even though they know they'll probably never debut. Like, it took YG 7 years to debut BP after 2NE1 and even then only four trainees made it to the group.

Maybe with the hope of getting a shot becoming the next 2NE1 or Blackpink... maybe with the thought, they want to give it a try...

Trainees tend to train for a very long time tho, they got hopes...

The person on your DP also trained for 10 years before she debuted and here she even had to compete with other trainees.... this is not exclusive to YGE.

ALL YG DOES IS LIE.

I was really excited to see these girls debut, such wasted potential. As soon as BP debuted, I knew there was no way "future 2ne1" would ever debut especially since YG marketed BlackPink as a "prettier 2ne1". The 2 groups would be way too similar for any sane company to debut them around the same time.

Good luck to these ladies regardless.

The chances of debuting under JYP or SM are much higher than YG when it comes to GGs, though. In the last ten years, JYP debuted 3 GGs while SM debuted 2 and they're getting ready to debut another one by the end of this year or early next year.

I really don't think you can say that because you don't know how many trainees they take on. I know that JYP takes on a really large number of trainees. That's why there are so many ex-jyp trainees in other famous groups. Even if JYP debuts people faster, we don't know if he is selecting from a greater pool which could make it just as competitive.
