Yes while Iron Man started the MCU, it wouldn't have started without small steps from the likes of Blade. Blade was Marvel's first true success. Its made on a modest budget of less than 50 million, which is chump change compare to most MCU movies that cost 100 to 300 million in production. And Blade made back its budget and enough to spawn 2 more movies. And 2nd its an R-rated movie which was more difficult in the late 90's and early 2000's.
