1. [+1,038, -22] Wow, even a dog would laugh at the claim that they're not trying to be greedy ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

2. [+887, -17] Then what're you trying to do? Milk them for everything...?

3. [+643, -8] Why deny the obvious ã…Žã…Žã…Žã…Žã…Žã…Žã…Žã…Žã…Žã…Žã…Ž

4. [+34, -0] They probably didn't expect Wanna One to hit as daebak as they did

5. [+29, -0] You guys are just mad that these groups are doing better than the original contract term you had planned ã…‹ã…‹

6. [+23, -2] It's obviously for the money, don't make up excuses

7. [+20, -0] ã…‹ã…‹ They didn't milk Wanna One enough for a year so they're extending it to five years ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

8. [+20, -3] ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ Come on, don't lie ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

9. [+17, -0] We all know how hard they milked Wanna One after they hit fame, we all know this is for the money ã…‹

10. [+16, -0] Their plan is to basically let these boys go back to their respective companies once they've milked them for all they're worth

I mean as an izone fan I would love for an extended contract so maybe they're doing it for the fans too?

They are paid so little and worked to the bone. You should be happy the contracts are short.

This is not just purely out of greed. So far, 100% of the time, the companies who got the trainees back are not earning what these artists were earning when they were in the group post Produce.

In a way they're also lengthening the idol lifespan for these 'about-to-be-huge' trainees. The more they earn for the companies, the more they get in their pockets too.

I think it's a good thing especially for fans who are willing to invest in these groups. TLDR: I see more pros than cons in this scenario tbh

"Not for the money" lmao sure. They know how profitable produce groups are and how they have a fanbase secured since the show so they obviously want to milk them as much as possible. It's good for the fans too but let's not act as if mnet wasn't the first one benefiting from this.

Here are the cons

Their pay isn't big and especially if they don't hit W1 level, they won't be paid a lot but overworked (there are way to many companies getting their $$$ including mnet and their future company, plus there are a lot of members and their own companies, everyone wanting their part)

They won't be new faces anymore and after 5 years is very hard to join a new group or return to the old one and not everybody is made to be solo and who knows if they would even have the popularity to do decent solo.

The longer the contract is, the hardest will be for the fans to let it go so their disband will hit harder than ex. Wanna One's or I.O.I's.

I don't know for Izone but YMC was biased and some members barely got any work outside the group.
