Yoon Ji Oh Admits Her Mother Is Not In Canada But In South Korea

Apr 26, 2019 by S. Park

Yoon Ji Oh has clarified the truth about her mother.

On April 24, it was reported that Yoon Ji Oh left South Korea through Incheon International Airport for Canada in order to take care of her mother who is currently fighting breast cancer. Yoon Ji Oh is currently in the spotlight as a witness in the Jang Ja Yeon case.

Yoon Ji Oh then posted a statement about her mother and her current situation on Instagram. Her statement is as follows:

I arrived safely in Canada, everyone. There’s something I hadn’t been able to tell you. To be honest, the person who spoke in a quiet voice to me during the broadcast saying that she’s a therapist and then snored loudly was my mom who I love and respect the most.

I have a family history of breast cancer and there was a ping-pong ball sized tumor visible [in my mom’s breast]. As a Canadian citizen, my mom is a Canadian and Canada’s healthcare fully covers her medical expenses. Medicine is pretty expensive, but even big surgical procedures are free. This is a plus and a minus.

There is a long waiting list. For cancer, every minute and second is a battle against time… but a majority of people have to wait a couple months to over a year. So the Canadian government legalized marijuana for patients who live with pain such as cancer.

After my mom came [to Korea], I thought a lot about this and that. Will I be able to act as my mom’s guardian when I can’t even protect myself? Since I’m also not healthy, I thought about being admitted with her in a two-person hospital room, but my mom and I are sick in different ways so that couldn’t work. I was so worried about just admitting my mom. No one would know that she was Yoon Ji Oh’s mom, but if I kept going back and forth to the hospital… It could be dangerous for my mom if rumors begin spreading. So I assigned a security guard to my mom and exempted one of my own.

I hadn’t been using my credit card. The CEO of the security company paid and I deposited through the CEO’s account so there wasn’t an issue for some time. I don’t know if they saw my mom’s card transactions after my mom came [to Korea], but my mom and I received threatening phone calls, our dorm was revealed, and there was an MBN reporter outside on the day we secretly moved.

I thought that it couldn’t go on like this and went to the airport, and the airport was also full of reporters. They treated me as if I was a criminal, and I couldn’t help but be sad and angry thinking about how my mom would be upset if she saw this. My wish is to live a normal life like everyone else. Uploading selfies with my family… freely hanging out with my friends freely hanging out with my boyfriend… I was happier when I wasn’t a public figure.

After stepping out into the public, I’ve had to take care of not only myself but also those around me. As more and more people around me became affected because of me, it became hard to manage, and I felt scared and sorry.

It doesn’t matter if you criticize, rebuke, or dislike me, but please don’t bother, threaten, or denounce my family and friends. I beg of you.

It was previously believed that Yoon Ji Oh had returned to Canada to take care of her mother there, but the Instagram post clarifies that her mother is currently in treatment in South Korea and that Yoon Ji Oh had decided to leave for Canada after receiving threatening phone calls.

You can clearly see how hard the evil people are working to try an destroy her mental well being but and reputation. I hope she can stay strong because justice needs to be served for all Jang Ja Yeons, ffuture, past and present.

So did she say basically Canada's universal healthcare had too long of a wait so she was paying out of pocket in Korea?

I don't recall Yoon Ji Oh disclosing the medical costs, but she did say that the wait times in Canada's healthcare system is "too long". Despite the "surgery fees and hospital fees are completely free to citizens", bringing her mom to Korea "is the best choice". SOOMPI

Shes right. Our medicare is fucked bc of how long it takes to get to see specialists. It's very common for people w serious health issues to outsource because they might Literally Die if they wait in the Canadian health industry line. Its horrible.

Guys in korea ppl are starting to recieve her as a liar and that as a witness her testimony cant be trusted. They are even telling ppl to stop donating to asianboss fundraiser for her. I dont even know what to think anymore, international audience have such limited info.

Apparently the public found out her mother was in korea through her insta live where they heard her mom identifying herself to security, this is how yoon ji oh clarified and they are saying its only cause she got caught. The person she was working with on her book release also came out and sued her for defemation of jjy character (she released txtmessages that shed yoon ji oh in a negative light...) and yoonjioh responded saying its lies and her lawyer will fight back? I personally have no idea but for some reason i cant completely shrug off this may be a ploy by the higher ups to discredit her.

My point is she doesnt have a good look in korea at all! Ppl think she ran away to cananda and just came to make money off her book (which was top selling). Like ppl are seeing her as not right in the head. Im shook how the media just easily swayed public opinion just like that. No witness will ever come out again if its gone be like this. Right now its just back&forth so I guess we gotta stay neutral.

This kind of brainwashing isn't new and it happens quite often. A little rumor here, a little rumor there...Rumors can be mixed with truths too. People talk and wrong information gets passed along as fact. Before you know it, whatever was passed around becomes truth. It's easy to do too. All is needed is to create a little doubt in your mind and your mind will do the rest. By the way...

An update on Asian Boss (regarding the GoFundMe for her security):

Asian Boss 4 days ago (edited)

UPDATE: Since this interview has aired, we've been told by Ms. Yun that she is being accused by certain Korean media outlets and high-profile individuals of raising funds for her personal gain at the expense of Jang's death. Despite the fact that the money was needed for her own protection and safety, she has communicated to us that she will be canceling the campaign, and refunding all the money back to the donors to avoid any misunderstanding about her true intentions. She has explicitly asked us not to promote this campaign any longer, so we have no choice but to respect her wishes.

Either way, we want to thank Ms. Yun for her courage to speak up and do the right thing. Please keep sharing this video and raising awareness about this issue. Thanks for your support.

In any country with problems detected of press manipulation, the vision outside the country is usually a more accurate one. It's happen in my country aswell.

Let me tell you something: in Jang JaYeon's case have been until now three people condemned: her CEO, her ex manager who was trying to help her to sue and escape her company and a man to who her send letters explaining all the abuse she was suffering. The first is the only person who hurt Jang, he was condemned for abuse, the second and third were condemned for lying and trying to hurt the image of the suspects. Yoon is their next target.

Maybe because everybody know already dispatch's reporting is just shit? At least I know. So I'm not going to even take in consideration what they're reporting.

Dispatch have been trying to discredit the "list of names" and the "circle of sexual exploitation" of miss Jang since the beginning, under the pretense of "making the true being known". They're absolute rubbish journalism clearly trying to help the influential perpetrators.

that's why i wanted to know why nobody is talking about it. Im interested in figuring out who's pocket they are in, its quite the coincidence that this "alleged information" comes out now. At worst all it does is get people to not believe either side until an outside independent investigation is brought, maybe something like interpol.

It's exactly the same with the case of the assault on Maho from NGT48. Bunshun is known to uncover scandals and the like, but on this case they've been awfully one sided and are keeping the truth hidden. The group of idol stalkers that assaulted Maho has links to Bunshun because they tend to stalk idols and pass on information. People are pretty sure that they took the pictures of Shida from Keyakizaka46 and that indirectly forced her to graduate. Not to mention that money talks and these kind of publications aren't fighting for social justice or to better the world, this is not wikileaks. It's all about profit. These publications are dirty, they are not gonna deny big sums of money coming their way.

Who know, they too many influential people involved on this... there're rumours that Dispatch is under the wing of Madam Shim who is a big head in all this "enterteinments turned in to prostitution circle" (don't know how to call it), but who know.

I had hoped that the Burning Sun case would clean a bit all the police corruption, but I don't know now. It's seems so widespread... If Korea was part of an upper union of nations of something there would be some hope (like for example, me as a Spanish, can go to the Europe Union justice system to try to find some outside/neutral support). But if I'm not wrong, Koreans haven't that option. I though that maybe miss Yoon could have go to the Canada Embassy in Seul for protection, but I don't know exactly if they could have done something. This is why above of my limited knowledge of Korean laws.

I didn't know the case of miss Maho, I'm just reading it now. In my opinion, the only way to fight this kind of rubbish journalism is to stop reading and sharing their articles. But because they also feed fandom with scandals, they're so dificult to erradicate because they're so popular.

I'm curious about this Madam Shim character. I say "character" because she's made out to be a villain straight out of a comic book or super hero movie. She may be rich, she may be powerful, she may be badass, she may even be a real person...But no one is THAT untouchable.

I read the Dispatch report. I figure that it's good to be aware of the reports out there. I wondered why now? What are they trying to push? I imagine there will be more reports.
