Who debuted in 2007 with nine members and had been active for over a decade now. They've held this record since surpassing S.E.S back in 2011. They have been able to hold onto the record for eight years. An incredible feat. Today after Gaon's report through Naver, TWICE has a total album sales total of "5.59M" group albums sold. Making them the top selling album girl group of Korea. This is figure alone is just TWICE as a whole without resorting to adding Sub units or solos. It has taken them 3 years and 6 months to accomplish this feat. A feat no one deemed possible after the arrival of their first hit Cheer Up back in 2016. They also gained the title of having the most Korean albums sold for a Girl Group. The record used to be held by S.E.S and they've been able to keep the record since 1998 They have held onto the record for 21 years. Another legendary girl group has seemed to join their ranks. To clear up many miscommunications. What about Oricon (For Korean Releases) and other Foreign sales? Why aren't those stacked on top of the overall total as well? Well here are the figures if we allowed such a method. Girls' Generation: 5.93M TWICE: 6.25M Either way the result in itself would be the same regardless. Another misunderstanding is that this record for albums sold as a group. As the collective unit. Other solo's or sub units aren't the entire groups album.
