Do you think its weird to Stress out over or brag about the chart success of Millionaires when you haven't even made 6 figures?

It's kinda sad to see so many fans placing energy in their faves chart positions and sales when their real lives are hanging on by a thread.  I'm guilty of this too, but the recent comeback of the kpop trinity has made it more apparent how ridiculous it is.

what is truly pathetic is that some of them stay overnight literally streaming 24/7 to get them records on the first 24 hours or most likes in x amount of time. bitch, don't you have your own privet life to enjoy? why are you trying to give multi-millionaires celebrities more? honestly, enjoy teenage years instead of wasting your life worrying about celebrities. they have teams of 15-20 people to build their image, and to mesmerize them crazily stanning them. believe me when they start these rivalry competitions, between idols it's created to intensify competition between fandoms and to make them spend more money. idols and their companies try to extract as much money as possible cause this is a "BUSINESS". it was done in jpop when two of the biggest celebrities in the 2000's purposely forced by their companies to released their albums on the same day, which resulted in the highest first-week albums sales in the world.

I think there are a lot of people that use kpop for that indeed. I see it as some kind of coping mechanism for perhaps uncertainties or negativities in peoples lives. As long as it's moderate and people don't get lost in it to much it can actually help people who normally perhaps wouldn't be able to feel that kind of succes in their normal lives. As long as you don't get consumed by it ofc and live your own life as well. Idk I can see why it can happen to people with the way idols are marketed and SNS / Internet etc

I honestly think they're just getting more stressed, with the competition and stuff

Vicarious? living vicariously through someone else's achievements is weird to me

It's like they're using their faves as an emotional support, putting themselves in their place or acting like they have a direct influence in their faves work and therefore the more successful their faves are, the more accomplished they will feel. Some people also seek seriously for attention and try to get it by bragging about their faves

I do agree that it can bring more stress to them when their faves end up not doing as good as expected, but that's how things go I guess

I say that as someone who used to do all those things and still does sometimes... I hope that makes sense

yawn specially  petty fans of  top kpop groups in general ... they are probably teens or college ppl that have no social life to even care to keep up let alone compare and creat bunch of threads abt it and fight over it as of their life depends on it .

but then u think the group members will never know them or care to say hi in the first place ... cause they UP THERE now , I can understand the energy for newer groups but these ekhkk

The way some fans think their artists achievements are theirs too is weird to me, like you're not getting any more successful by your idol success and you are not getting any money from their paychecks

Don't get me wrong, as a fan the news of my faves breaking records are good news and I feel happy about them but at the same time I don't care if they charted well or not

I don't think it works that way, I feel it's really unhealthy as they get stressed out over records and charts so it definitely brings some negativity to their lives

They also need to stop the delusion that this brings anything to their lives and start focusing on their lives to gett their own achievements instead

Yeah I think in short term it can help a bit but it's def not healthy to have that mentality for the long term tbh

when people take it too seriously and far (i.e. defamation/rumors/shit talking/degrading) is when I believe they should really take a step back and think about what they're doing. I get it's an outlet for a majority but at some point you have to realize it's so unhealthy
