Article: Is JYP being swept up in a pro-Japanese controversy... What exactly is the Nizi Project?

1. [+1,631, -85] He should worry more about Twice right now. Their new song is bad, along with the styling and its music video. It's already dropped to #3 on Melon and it's only the first day. Seems like JYP wants to all in on Japan more and more but Korean fans will turn their backs on him if he does that.

2. [+1,238, -68] For some reason, JYP has always been accepted in Japan but not in America. Twice's new song dropped from #1 to #3 after an hour and I think their new concept shows that they weren't changing up their concept before because they didn't want to but because they couldn't. They match the lovely, cutesy style more which is more up Japan's alley.

3. [+1,145, -104] He got a taste of Japan with the three Japanese members in Twice and now he wants to all in on Japan completely. What's funny is that ever since he ruined the Wonder Girls, he's switched over to Japanese style idols. Looks like he gave up on the Billboard since BTS and Black Pink are doing better on the western side and Black Pink is doing way better than Twice on international YouTube so he's just giving up and sticking to Japan.

4. [+90, -5] I wouldn't call this pro-Japanese but Park Jin Young has a tendency to screw up right at the peak of fame. WG, miss A, Twice... If he's making a group of Japanese members singing Japanese songs, why would you call that K-Pop? ã…‹ã…‹

5. [+87, -7] I normally trust and support Park Jin Young with other things but this is a disappointment. Why do all the work for Japan to reap the glory? J-Pop is already on the decline right now so all you have to do is leave them alone for them to flop but now JYP wants to step up and do all the work for Japan just to make some money? K-Pop is spreading all over the world right now, he better not splash cold water on it.

6. [+68, -9] He should be calling this group J-Pop, not K-Pop..

7. [+66, -2] His American disease was cured only to be replaced by the Japanese disease... there's no cure this guy

8. [+64, -4] His business advisors probably decided that they've milked Twice enough. JYP's advisors obviously aren't dumb, why else would they want to create a new girl group right now..

9. [+49, -10] Does he not have any pride as a Korean? So pathetic... His groups are already getting crappy songs right now, just go and worry about that instead of doing all the work for Japan.

10. [+47, -2] This actually disgusts me ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ If he's going to debut an all Japanese group, do not call them K-Pop. How dare you stick K-Pop on that?

11. [+44, -6] Singing in Japanese makes it a J-Pop song. Why call it K-Pop? They'll be a Japanese group releasing albums in Japan and promoting in Japan. Everyone in the world already knows what J-Pop is, please don't label it K-Pop when it isn't.

12. [+31, -0] I don't care whether JYP makes a Japanese group and promotes them over there or not but just don't call it K-Pop.

He makes money in Japan so he's kneeling down. LOL. Might as well send TWICE there for good.

When did they ever call Nizi kpop? And why do people not criticize SM for NCT China? SM, JYP and CJ are all adopting their own versions of 'globalization by localization ' right now, making groups for specific countries. These nate commentors are so funny, months ago when they first announced a Japanese GG the comments were along the lines of "go promote them in Japan, we don't want them here", not even realizing the whole pt of the group is to be for Japan, not Korea. Also kpop is honestly an industry rather than a genre. Is nct china kpop or cpop? Are twice's Japanese songs kpop or jpop? It really doesn't matter, but these people simply don't seem to get the point of these moves.

I don't remember anywhere in the presentation where he mentioned that this is a kpop group. He stated that this is a group with the JYP color and will be trained at the JYP center in South Korea. The only time he references kpop is to show the differences between kpop and jpop.

Maybe the news reporter had access to backstage information that I'm not privy to, but the article made no mention of that so I have no idea where they're extrapolating that this is a KPOP group.

I like how they're praising BP this one time, just to bash Twice... they're pathetic and transparent. souleyesplz.png

Edit: Also, Twice's new song isn't bad at all? It's not what I expected, but it's not bad.
