Bts vs western boybands

So bts is more on the Beatles level if u think about it.

BTS are better than 1D, n'sync, bsb, etc

Why? Cuz their music MEANS something. They dont make music to make music. There is a reason behing the songs.

(English isnt my frist language)

I study languages, especially french and I learned about the different french dialects that exist and how they are all valid even if some group of people hate on some of them. I learned that we should accept all dialects cuz it makes the language and country complete, united, diff and beautiful lol

BTS made a song about it ! A frickin boyband made a song about an social issue that I study in university !! lol

Its not the only subject the talk about in their songs. Their discography is super diverse!

Thats why I think they are more on the Beatles level.

I agree. There are two main reasons why I think BTS have established a legend status, beyond what all the mainstream pop boy groups of the past few decades have achieved:

1. BTS brought so much attention to South Korea from all over the world. I don't have the article on hand but anyone can google how much BTS have contributed to the South Korean economy and cultural significance. Did NSYNC or BSB make the US more relevant in music, or 1D with the UK? I thought so. Some may say this comparison is unfair, since the US/UK music industry is a lot bigger and too many names have already preceded these boy groups for them to do anything that scale. But again, BTS are getting people to listen to songs in a language they don't understand (and actually look up the meaning of these lyrics, unlike with Gangnam Style for example). I think that alone qualifies them as the biggest contributor to the Korean culture in history already.

2. I find it baffling how the media often mis-portrays ARMY as a bunch of crazy teenage fangirls. This is far from the truth. There are so many older people who are fans of BTS, their music, and even their non-music stuff. Songs like Spring Day speak to any generations, and I've seen a lot of adults/parents genuinely enjoy the Bangtan guys' personality and inspiring message. Sure, other boy groups might have had fans from older generations too, but as far as I can tell, BTS attract so much love from people who see beyond the heartthrob-ness or dashing visuals of their brand.

BTS has a different formula from OneD and OneD has a different formula from what Beatles had.

Beatles wrote their own music (just like BTS does) but they used to play instruments. BTS don't do that but they dance and rap. OneD was/is a group that came out from a singing talent show so it'd be weird to ask them to dance or compose whatsoever since they were ~not trained~ for that type of performance.

They all randomly joined a contest and passed auditions and all then randomly and roughly put together. That didn't happen with Beatles or BTS. The first decided to become one and BTS have been trained for years.

Are Beatles and BTS more talented as a whole? Yes. Does that take something away from OneD or other boybands who came out from t.shows? Not really, cause they never aimed to dance, compose and so on.

Tbh most BTS members do play instruments, just not on stage, we're still waiting for the rock band concept, BigHit gotta stop starving us

More than Justin B, 1D and BSB? In Asia yes.

Are they a wall in kpop? Yes.

But parents and old people don't regist BTS with Asia and Brazil exception. Justin, 1D and BSB during peak were knowing for every world until rock, cumbia and reggaeton fans knew about them.

I asked my rocker fans, elder people and my parents about BTS and they don't know about them meanwhile Justin, BSB and 1D yes.

When I asked them but with objective criteria the BTS and Beatles comparation they laughed "are you joking me? They are good for being kpop but Beatles level not. Kpop never will be like The Beatles or Rolling Stones."

In kpop area BTS are wall but in worldwide general public recognition not.
