Is aesthetics more important for dessert compared to entrees and main?

I think that aesthetics is more important for a dessert. If an entrée or a main meal is decent looking I wouldn't mind, especially if it's something that involves sauce that can't be spilled on top (you know like boeuf bourguignon). But a dessert is really appetizing if the aesthetics are good, I wouldn't eat a decent looking dessert unless it was done by my mother.
