LOL it was hella fire, but it wasn't scary at all. and i am completely b`tch made

when it comes to anything remotely scary. i yelp when my leg hairs spook

me. ._.  i would say Us is much more of a clever and almost intellectual

film rather than a horror. maybe i'm just use to shitty shitty slasher joints

that i wish to forget lol. but nonetheless i thoroughly enjoyed myself.

i was also the only person in my theater. ngl .. i fit the stereotype of talking back @

the screen . lmao. i was ripe for traumatizing, but it never happened. a couple

of the jump scares did get me, but they just kinda made me laugh. asdfglkjh

and now that i'm thinking about it, i don't recall really a lot of people saying they

were actually scared of the movie. the hashtag the weekend it came out, the

reviews i read; they were mostly about how it made them think about certain things

and how clever it is, hm. still great job Jordan Peele wew.

have to say, this was most creative use of "Hands Across America" i've ever seen.

have you seen it? what'd you think?

*special shout out to Captain Marvel, it was also flames.

tbh i love the direction these horror movies going. it isnt like slasher horror, but it is fascinating, psychological horror to me.

like i watched a review before seeing the movie, and they had talked about a moment they thought would be a jump scare, but was not, and was more rewarding when they had jumpscare later on when it isnt expected anymore.

idk what moments that was because i personally didnt experience anything i saw as a jump scare through the movie. like to me, i feel like horror movies has had this renaissance and i really like it. there is so many iconic horror movies i'd like to see but cant because it'd be too much for me., particularly like, slasher, or something that is too gorey. i actually did not have appreciation for horror until i saw hereditary last year. which critics had called the scariest movie, comparing to the exorcist(which i dont have nerve to watch). but people still might think its not that scary, cuz its not the generic scary. im not sure where i stand on if these psychological movies are 'scary'. but definitely fascinating. Us blows me away tbh, as did Hereditary, as Im sure Midsommar (coming out in July? made by same guy as Hereditary), will be the same with the psychological nature. and justy so other good horror movies in general? I feel like. Like It was good, and Im anticipating chapter 2, and also Ma coming out next month. well who knows they could flop but im hopeful they are quality

if it was Jordan's intent probably was LOL, i completely agree. i'll be thinking about it

for a long time. i wanna see it again.

i really enjoyed it and still think about it from time to time and the messages it tried to convey

i want to buy it when it's released in physical form

well said. psychological horrors are much more frightening because its so

tangible. as much as i love Michael Myers for some reason, its just not it.

because it is so paper thin. i read reviews of Hereditary and even those

lowkey made my spine shiver. i could never watch that movie, i would piss

myself so quick. the psychological is sooo tangible its frightening. the work

of the human psyche and mental illnesses, how we cope with truama and

how that can unknowingly create a domino effect; we wouldn't even know it. >.<

i saw the trailer for 'Ma' .. i don't have high hopes lol. looks like the round-a-bout

we see every other year about obsession and possessiveness. but who

knows, it could be surprising.
