junmyeonsnoodle 1,074
My step-sisters asked me to go in on my dad's fathers day present with them, but it's like $500 and I'm like not even close to him (like when he got married he didn't tell me and I found out about it from some random girl at school). I would be willing to chip in like $25-30 max, but I like don't even know how to respond cuz it honestly seemed like such crazy thing to ask. What would you say? Sana <3 514
I would just tell them no. $500 is a lot for someone you barely know.
RiseLikeACrowTit 862
Tell them that you are tight on money, and that you can only slide a $20; take it or leave it 10 minute offer
harumaki 4,354
Tell them you prefer giving him a gift by yourself (as an excuse ofc) and then you decide what to do, congratulate him, give him a small present or just ignore it...

TheBestGuest 323
You should tell them no. He clearly doesn't think of you enough to tell you he got married, so why should you chip in on a $500 gift that he honestly wouldn't care was from you? The fact that you are willing to chip in at all amazes me, but different folks different strokes.

Pineapple 7,592
I would tell them what you said here honestly. Just that you really aren't very close to him, and/or $500 for a present isn't within your budget, but you would be willing to pitch in the $25-30 if they want.
