End of an era!- Reggie Fils-Aime retires from Nintendo today

Recommended Posts

As of today, April 15, 2019, Reggie Fils-Aime is now no longer the President of Nintendo of America. Earlier this year, the announcement of his departure via retirement shocked the gaming community. But, Mr. Fils-Aime has his reasons. He’s stated that he’s leaving now in “good health and good spirits†to spend more time with his family and friends.
As a result, his position will now be filled by Mr. Doug Bowser, who joined Nintendo back in 2015 as the chief of the marketing department. This was a year before the Switch was revealed, and its marketing campaign has been phenomenal. So, that gives a good suggestion that Mr. Bowser has a very bright vision for carrying the future of Nintendo of America. Mr. Doug Bowser hasn’t been seen around in the public space too often since he came to Nintendo, but it is very possible his presence will increase now that he’s NOA President.
Mr. Fils-Aime began his tenure at Nintendo during the Gamecube and quickly became a favorite public figure in not just the Nintendo community, but even the general gaming community as well. That’s why his departure has generated so much buzz. Nevertheless, he will likely remain well talked about in gaming circles for some time.
