Why don't KPop acts play Madison Square Garden anymore?

I went to SMTown in 2011 at Madison Square Garden. Since then, I haven't seen any KPop acts play there, even thought it's the most known venue in the US. It's even weirder since I saw Robyn there last month and she hasn't had a song chart here since 1997 and her album that came out last year charted at #40. Yet the show was sold out. So what is the reasoning behind KPop acts playing other venues in the New York area, namely the Prudential Center in Newark?

Probably got a better ticket prices to venue rental costs ratio. Who doesn't like larger profits.

This. It's always about money.

Kcon also use to be held at the Prudential Center.

However now with Kpop being even more popular in the West, looks like MSG is offering better options~

If i'm not wrong, it's not actually that big and expensive. It definitely look better on achievement list buts it better to just do NJ unless u do an arena tour on the scales of some american artist.

MSG is actually bigger than Prudential, but as stated above it all comes down to business

Citi Field is double the capacity.

That's another thing... Most people who do stadium shows in this area do Yankee Stadium, not Citi Field. I found that quite bizarre. There's a lot of secondary venues going in in regards to New York, as opposed to the prime ones.

Scheduling and profit.

Prestige is second to profit.

Better prices . You rent out MSG for the name but kpop companies care about the profit .

So if this is the case, why do domes that aren't sold out?

Why are we talking about Japan now lol

How Kpop companies treat the West and Japan are completely different. There are barely any Kpop artists selling out Stadiums. So as long as a Kpop group can even do a show in one, whether that's Citi Field or Yankee, is "Prestigious". It's better to go with the one that's going to make you the most profit.

In Japan it's a lot easier for groups to do Domes. And yes prestige still matters.

The lack of continuity is something else. On one hand, prestige matters, but on the other, it doesn't. What's the truth?

It matters for both just treated differently depending on the country.

Being the US itself is already prestigious to Koreans. Minor difference between the "name" of a stadium or arena doesn't matter.

They dgaf about Kpop groups accomplishments in Japan. Doing Domes seem to be the one to get some attention though.
