when i worked at walmart the power went out for a while and we couldn't let customers have any milk and stuff when it opened cause we have to check the temperature so we basically had to guard all the frozen/dairy shit

this old lady got so mad and literally ran up to me as if to punch me and raised her fist at me and i just stared at her with this blank expression without flinching as if "punch me whore i don't care anymore" and she walked away confused

stupid bitch

oh also this old bitch that stole 20 dollars from me... there's really so much fuck customers

I've been lucky to escape never really having an awful customer myself outside of the people asking weird questions about products we sell, and some guy that was throwing a hissy fit about a fridge not being available.

The fridge was a demo and had gotten sold a bit before, so we were wiping down the fridge, getting the price sign off of it, and were about to wrap it up in bubblewrap. The guy walks up and says he wants to buy the fridge and got pissy when we told him it was sold. Kept going on about that since it was out on the floor it should be available for him to buy (despite that we were about to wrap it in bubblewrap and it had been pulled out of the line-up with the other fridges), and claimed it was false advertisement.

I've also had coworkers that one had popcorn thrown in their face by a mad customer when my coworker told them we were out of hotdogs but can make one and bring it to the movie they are seeing (when I worked at a movie theatre). One that got called a sorry excuse for a person by some ass customer that was well known among the cashiers for being an ass. And one that had a customer barge up on them at their register, cutting in front of the long as hell line of people waiting, and when my coworker told them there's a line and they need to go to the back of it, the customer got mouthy and an attitude.

I've worked as a waitress/cashier before and aside from it being quite exhausting, those were the days I realized how rude and shitty other people can be. When it's lunch or dinner time, obviously there would be more customers and waiting time will be longer. But others doesn't seem to have common sense and would get so mad. One customer even made a scene and shouted that if they're not seated within a minute, he would just barge in and do whatever he wanted.

Only lasted for 6 months and that's the last job I've had where I have to deal with customers face to face.

Hats off to all those who work in the customer service industry. Your patience is really something.

I don’t work in retail, but in technical support. I can’t give any details really, but I will say that a lot of people act like the world is collapsing if they are without a phone for x amount of time. Like yeah it sucks but...people lived without cellphones, and it wasn’t even that long ago.

People can just have the most unrealistic expectations and make demands that are honestly impossible, then think being an asshole will change the options. Look, in customer service, a big portion of our job performance is in customer satisfaction surveys. I have -no- reason to ever withhold an option, if I can make it happen and make you happy I will get it done, but it’s not always possible.

The worst was definitely when I was a cashier at a hardware store. A little old lady like 80 years old was so angry that we didn't have what she wanted in stock that she said she was going to go home and get her gun because she had a bullet with my name on it. Suffice to say I was rattled as fuck.

A really smelly person came in our charity store, tried one of our clothes in the changing room, came out with our stuffs and left his dirty stuffs on our clean clothes racks without saying anything.

I would never discriminate against anyone but he reeks of smell so bad to the point that the smell stayed there and we had to spray cleaning spray everywhere. My nose is really bad at detecting smell but he was just that smelly. If he had explained to us his situation whatever it is, I'd probably get something for him to wear but no, he had to do that kind of bullshit.

When they get aggressive about things that are out of our control. They try to scare us I guess and I hate that it works on me. This one guy started walking towards me swearing and looking pissed off because the postal worker delivered the package wrong. It literally has nothing to do with us.

We just help package your stuff and sell cards man.

A guy who even after I explain the exchange policy to him refused to accept the reasons, and I have to explain to him 2 hours before he finally accepted it.

My supervisors praised me for handling it with patience though I was boiling mad
