pannatic 】 Will MOMOLAND end up going downhill similarly to Crayon Pop’s route? Opinions divided.

The group who seems to be following Crayon Pop's route

They get divided opinions from the netizens, whether if they're going to be the 2nd EXID or the 2nd Crayon Pop

-Crayon Pop only had one hit song and went downhill afterwards. At least Momoland still has fame even for releases after their hit song.

-I'd say they're better than Crayon Pop... None of Crayon Pop's members became popular despite their hit song...

-It's still too early to judge... Who knows if they're going to hit it so much bigger in their next comeback?

-I think Momoland has bigger potential...

-I only know the blondie one, JooE...

-They have JooE, who's too popular to be compared to Crayon Pop. And the other members are getting more fame too these days...

-They're in so much better condition and situation than Crayon Pop. But judging by how their company behaves, I think it's possible for them to go down Crayon Pop's route...

-They have brighter future than Crayon Pop...

-The other members beside JooE are starting to get responses from the public as well, these days...

-What the heck are you talking about...ã…‹ã…‹ I personally feel they're going to go to T-ARA's route...

-Why are they called as the 2nd EXID...? Because their old song rocketed back up to the music chart?

During T-ara's peak year, they actually have a fandom that buys albums.

I can see them still being successful if they stop trying to recreate bboom bboom. They should get someone else other than Shinsadong and they probably shouldn’t have used him for so long in the first place

Hopefully with Im So Hot not be digitally successful compared to Bboom Bboom or even Baam, will encourage the company to let momoland try someone different

hmmmmmm not really but yes if they keep trying to recreate the same song cause I'm So Hot was definitely a disappointment and it shows in the charts. They just need to focus on a new bop sound while still increasing the member's popularity like JooE

Afaik Crayon Pop basically vanished after Barx3. At least Momoland is still decently successful. Baam charted well despite not being a smash hit like Bboomx2 and even I’m so hot is still hanging in the top 100. So I’d say they’re closer to EXID than CP.

didn't "I'm So Hot" get 3 wins alone? that's what WJSN, DIA, and Oh My Girl accumulated altogether over all their careers, right?

just because Momoland is controversial doesn't mean they're not successful. they have not gone the route of Crayonpop at all

I think people forget that crayon pop also went downhill because one member pregnant and married... Just hope momoland member wouldn't betray her member like yulhee former laboum

Momoland is already better, at least ppl know JooE. They need to stop buying songs from that copy machine composer, sticking to one composer because of fear of losing fame is too pathetic.

They are definitely doing better than Crayon Pop, but I can see them fading away if they keep on releasing songs in the style of Boom Boom. I loved BAAM, but I literally stopped listening to I'm so hot in the first minute because I already knew where this is going and it was too predictable and boring.

They need to reinvent themselves with a new style, something catchy and fresh and they will be just fine. They already had a big hit under their belts, some fine performing other songs and even as a casual follower I can name most of their members so they are doing a good job at making the members popular.

I liked Crayon Pop when they first hit the scene. The group was fresh, lively, bubbly, and cute. They had catchy songs like "Bar Bar Bar", "Dancing Queen", and "Saturday Night". But I felt that the group was structured around gimmicks more than anything else. The helmets! Even member Way said, "If we don't wear our helmets, no one recognizes us." After a while I think people got tired? By the time Strawberry Milk promoted, the group lost their steam. That's what it felt like to me. I've heard people say they were tooooo cute. There are fans who say that the company mismanaged them. There were fans who were upset over Soyul and Moon Hee Jun. I think the downfall of Crayon Pop was more like they couldn't transition out of the typecast concepts that got them the popularity in the first place.
