I am interested on who will be the trainer and the song they covered. Are there will be any johnny's idol involved or their song will be covered. Love it or hate it, they are the important pinnacle of Japanese male idol history. They cannot treat that Johnny's idol doesn't exist at all.

Wow, I actually thought it was gonna be with girls because both the Korean and even the Chinese (licensed) version started with female seasons. If some Johnny’s (esp Hey Say Jump) participate I’ll probably watch it ngl.

plz no more idols in Japan, we need soloist artist back like in the early 2000's. it was the peak of Jpop.

Are you that oblivious with how Japanese entertainment works? Idol genre is just one aspect of much bigger and more diverse genres of Japanese entertainment industries. Even idol genres is quite diverse. If you like soloist that much, just listen Kenshi Yonezo's Lemon. That song is quite popular right now.

Hey Say Jump is quite veteran. They debut the same time SNSD, Kara and Wonder Girls debuted. I doubt that they will join.

Anyway, interesting to note that one of Yoshimotozaka46 unit is quite dance intensive. Some of them also consist of professional dancer. Therefore, I think that more or less the final group will go to that direction.

Yeah I know they debuted around 2007-2008? But idk, if some of the most veteran AKB girls like Jurina joined pd48, it wouldn’t be far fetched for some Johnny’s to join.

Yoshimoto is too big for Johnny’s to bring them down unlike the past boy groups tbh. I mean they couldnt bring exile down.

The Mnet business will be changed the old structures of jpop. In SK P101 Mnet put in checkmate to Big 3. Maybe in Japan will start something similar.

how can one statement have that many mistakes? also, one artist =/= equal all solo artist. let's be real most of these idols aside from Arashi and SMAP are living on pure gimmick, which is very different from 2000s where actual musician like Utada, Ayumi, L'Arc-en-Ciel, Kuu, Misia, Namie were on top. they were all able to sing, dance, produce, write their own music. but now you have one guy writing literally the same song over and over again, cause they know %80 of their fans don't care, but are only interested in the individual idol instead of the music.

Jurina is pretty much special case. She is similar place like Mayu post Acchan. Considered as veteran because of debut year but since they debut very young, both are being push on new and younger generation side of spectrum. And other like Myao and Miyu, they pretty much want to do something new after stuck in AKB48 dungeon for a long time.

I think Exile survive because they not lean too much on idol image. Even it is weird to called Exile as idol group.

Whether idols are living on pure gimmick is irrelevant to discussion. My point is that Japanese entertainment industries are huge. There are many artist which is not idol there. This is not KPop which the entertainment industries are saturated with idol. You just need to go out from the idol genre if you are suffocating with idol group and you find many solo artists and many music genres in Japan. It is not that hard.
