It's ok to dislike a song or comeback by your favorite groups

I feel like the kpop fandoms have this weird culture where you aren't allowed to say anything critical or negative about a group you like or you're automatically labeled a hater.

I'm super excited for Blackpinks success because those girls deserve it after being locked away for so long but at the same time...I feel like Kill This Love is pretty lacking song wise but no one really wants to say that? The rest of the songs are solid and I really like them but Kill This Love seems unfinished.

Same thing happened when the BTS concept photos were released and some people commented on not liking them. People freaked out when some people said they didn't like them as much as previous concept photos and labeled them as fake fans.

I listen to BTS, Shinee, Twice and Blackpink the most and I can name multiple songs by each group that I dislike and that's ok.

that's true, but i do know a lot of people in the nctzen fandom especially who constantly trash nct's music and it just makes me think, why are you even stanning them???

also, i don't think i dislike a single comeback by any of my faves except sf9's debut

I agree with you OP. you don't know how many times people told me I was an exo-l disguised as an army just because I criticized bts/bighit or the fandom. and I see it happening in the unpopular opinion thread too. you can see people there replying to the ones who criticize their favs and it looks like it bothers them

Why would people saying they don't like a few particular songs or comebacks be annoying?

I mean saying it once or twice is enough. I don't understand people that keep mentioning it over and over and get weirdly bitter about how everyone likes a comeback they personally don't

I get that but in my experience it kinda seems like a person will comment that they don't like the song and people kinda bandwagon on telling them they're fake fans or hurting the group. You don't need like 20+ people telling you your opinion is wrong.

Of course you can dislike it.

But it's not necessary to spread to the world like: "I don't like this comeback" or "the a-side is trash" sth like that.

There are many ways to express your unpopular opinions without offending fans.

This is basically what i'm talking about.

Your post suggested that a person is allowed to dislike a song but they shouldn't say that they dislike it. That's basically suggesting that any non-positive opinion should be kept to themselves.

You also made a distinction between someone saying they didn't like a comeback and fans, which implies the people saying they don't like the comeback aren't fans.

I really can't fathom what is wrong or insulting about your example of "I don't like this comeback."

nothing wrong with it,

tbh KTL isn't my favorite title and tbh i prefer square up over the album, everyone has different preferences, just like people prefer different eras for their favorite group- you're fine

some fans want everyone to be sheep, but we're not. We're different people, who grew liking different things

I would say people who start attacking others for not liking a certain song are the ones who force themselves to like it, so once they see someone being honest with their opinion they blow up and then the others just don't like it when someone is disagreeing with them, so they feel the need to make them think the same thing. If someone is not straight up shitting on the song, but gives reasons why they don't like it there is nothing wrong with sharing that opinion

In most cases people won't say anything if you're expressing your opinion in a civilized manner, it's the people who are being assholes or obnoxious that get quoted 100 times. It's also incredibly condescending when someone implies fans are just forcing themselves to like a comeback just cause they personally don't like something. I have rarely seen anyone get harassed for a respectful critique on a song or an album.
