does anyone here have endometriosis?

so my period cramps have always been unbearable to the point where i could faint or vomit and it's starting to get worse. Also I get random shooting pains especially when i have a bowel movement. I do take ibuprofen but sometimes i end up taking more than the recommended amount in a day.

My mom thinks i could have endometriosis bc my grandmother also has it so it runs in the family. I'm gonna see a doc soon but im really worried about being infertile. Does anyone have advice??

I've had those really bad period cramps before but only twice a year usually sgdjfkg

if you're getting that every period you should definitely get it checked out

try not to worry too much since you can't change anything until you know why it's happening, so being anxious about it isn't going to help and will just make you feel worse

I hope you'll be ok <3

I think a medical check with a specialist is a must, just to be sure. Also u need to understand that endometriosis is a cause of infertility, but that doesn't mean all the women with endometriosis are infertile, for example a colleague who had a severe case of endometriosis had a healthy son 1 year ago, so don't worry.

I'm suspected to have endometriosis. I had a scanner but it didn't show anything. According to my doctor, we can really rely on the scanner since it can be really hard or even impossible to see.

He told me that approximatly one woman out of 4 with endometriosis had fertility problems. It not always total infertility, but it can be a real difficulty for the egg to get fixed and things like that because endometriosis makes the uterus less able to bear it. Also it depends a lot on "where" the endometriosis is the most developped.

If the fertility problem really concerns you, I think you should ask your doctor if it's possible to take fertility tests.

For the cramps, personally I'm on a continuous pill that totally cuts off my periods so no periods and no hell cramps.

Hopefully you'll be fine, till you get a confirmation from your doctor, keep in mind that many women have really painful periods but don't have endometriosis too. I still go with that state of mind since the scans didn't show anything for me.

i do. i got myself checked out and i seem still fertile but might have issues getting pregnant if i wait too long... my grandmother and mother had/have it, and they conceived just fine.

don't worry, the most important thing is you're checking it out and arming yourself with as much knowledge as you can if you do have it.
