Please post the country that you come from and their biggest hit(s) in your country.

I was talking to my friend and she asked me, "Is Beyoncé really that popular in the USA? Why do a lot of people call her Queen B or the female version of MJ?" She thought Rihanna was more popular than Beyoncé here since the former has more, or well-known, hits than the latter in her country.

In the USA, Beyoncé has a cult-like following and a massive fanbase, but Rihanna has more hits and is listened to the most by the general public.

RIHANNA by a landslide. I can't choose a big hit.The biggest were:Stay, Diamonds, Please Don't Stop The Music, We Found Love, Where Have You Been, Umbrella, What's My Name, Work, Take A Bow, Who's That Chick? etc all smashes that almost everyone knows

People here may know of Beyoncé but no really listens to her music. Maybe Single Ladies was popular but not sure

from USA and idk I know of more rihanna songs than beyonce but everyone knows who both of them are

I feel like beyonce's name has a bigger """"impact"""" tho idk why

I feel like most people from the public know more songs from Rihanna than Beyoncé even though the latter has been in the music industry for 5-6 years longer than the former.

Rihanna's last HUGE hit was 'Work' in 2016.

Beyoncé's last HUGE hit was 'Single Ladies' in 2008.

I completely agree with your last statement.

The amount of hits Rihanna has is outstanding.

Rihanna: 14 #1 hits

Beyoncé: 6 #1 hits (as a soloist; 10 if we include the songs from her DC days)

Everyone knows who both are, but Rihanna has had more hits here.

Beyoncé's only hits here were Crazy In Love, Irreplaceable and Single Ladies, probably Best Thing I Never Had too but it wasn't really huge. Almost every major Rihanna hit was a smash, even LOTB was a small hit thanks to a viral video.

I'm from Brazil.

These did relatively well too (after Single Ladies)

-Run the World

-Drunk in Love

-Halo

-Diva

Looking at Wikipedia seems like both have similar amounts of hits in the US.

riri

even without new music she's released fenty so she's always staying relevant

i say even elderly people know her since she became a meme here when a farmer chased her off his field for filming a music video there

I live in the US. Beyonce is a NAME and a BRAND. Her career is way longer, I would argue that she's had more hits than Rhianna-just not as recently. Also, Beyonce is part of a HUGE power couple-which people are fascinated by-and she was part of Destiny's Child-which was really, really, really popular in the early 2000's. This isn't even a competition in the US.

Ofc now it's Rihanna but Beyonce was more popular at her peak.

Their songs are both popular, however 'Beyoncé' as a whole has transcended artistry to be treated as a whole brand and culture. Her name can be used synonymously in conjunction with describing a 'top' artist or a successful act. Beyoncé also has the edge with her fanbase.

ex. Man, it would be so exciting if BTS could pull a Beyoncé one day.
