" The surname XXXXX was first found in the city of Milan, where earliest records are of the Bonacina family in 1220.

It was created from the personal name Bona, which is derived from the Latin name Bonus, which means "good." The popularity of the personal name Bonus, was in part due to the name being borne by a 3rd-century Christian saint, martyred at Rome. "

I'm Italian so it makes sense lol.

My surname is Japanese because my parents are from Japan. Born and raised

My dad's is more common as a first name than a last name but it means "3 trees"

My mom's is very common Japanese last name. I am pretty sure it is one of the 100 most common Japanese surnames and it means "tree village"
