I've been tracking Izone's new video on YouTube and I've noticed how many comments there are after one day. Violeta has currently got 46,501 comments. 46,501!!! If I posted the the 46,502 comment, who is ever going to see it?

Let me do a random check of other videos:

-------------------------------------

DDDD > 1,665,261

Bboom Bboom > 195,521

DNA > 3,042,845

Sorry Sorry > 23,635

Gee > 199,479

Love Scenario > 271,016

Dalla Dalla > 248,432

Butterfly > 68,001

-------------------------------------

3 million comments for DNA! What the heck? Nobody could ever read them all. So what's is for?

Anyway, question for you. Do you post YouTube comments? If yes, why? Is it another stanning thing people do?

P.S. Violeta has now got 46,521 comments. 20 more since I started typing this post. laugh.png

because it's the closest you can get to giving feedback on a specific video. if many people agree with your comment, it will get replies and likes which will take it to the top. if it's a smaller youtuber, they'll likely see all the comments. obviously. as for someone with a larger audience, keeping the comments on is more useful when it comes to receiving feedback rather than disabling them altogether because at least some people will be heard, it's just hard for it to be you. either way, over time top comments come and go so many people have a shot.

I think it's just how yt stans organize their streaming parties

Also it gives you some insight on fandom atm

For example the past couple of weeks the comment sin BTS videos have been mostly in arabic

It's because they want to get a concert so they decided to switch from english to arabic so Bighit can notice the demand

I post comments even on big channels.

1) spread facts/correct information

2) answer/ask questions about the contents etc.

3) share a key point that hasn't been highlighted by other comments

4) [in bigoted/toxic comment sections] post the opposite viewpoint so chance readers don't feel so alone

i mean, if all you're watching on YT is kpop MVs and reaction videos, there's not much worth commenting on,

but don't forget that there are documentaries, discussions, histories, tutorials, reviews, interviews, etc. that all benefit from additional questions and perspectives
