I'm sorry, but the level of hate she is receiving for this is actually ridiculous and the fact that people are conflating stealing money from creepy men who were trying to use her for sex to literal rape is disgusting. Especially considering she has been open with the fact men have sexually assaulted her (not sure if she said rape explicitly so I don't want to be that bold).

She was trying to survive, and she has been open about her past and that she isn't proud of it. You can even see that in the video when she starts crying at the end. Sex work isn't glitz and glamour like it's shown in movies, it can be seedy, shady and dangerous for the sex workers so i'm not surprised she did stuff like this in order to survive. She's moved past that and is now making a better life for herself.

People saying this is the same as rape is disgusting. How many men are forced in to sex work as a means for survival? How many men are put at the hands of female pimps? Powerful men tried to abuse their power to have sex with her, and she did what she had to in order to survive.

Nicki Minaj fans should probably ask their fave why she is dating and defending her murderer pedophile rapist boyfriend rather than searching the web for videos of Cardi B.

Ok? She apologised and obviously wasn't proud of it, which you can see from the video. You're totally ignoring the nuance of the situation.

She was a sex worker, who was being put in to uncomfortable situations (i.e. they were trying to rape her) by men who were abusing their power (money and influence) and thought that her being a stripper meant that they were owed sex for tipping her. Drugging them wasn't right, but she was in situations where she felt that was necessary in order to survive (if she didn't drug her, she would have probably gotten raped). She also talked in that video about how the men whom she drugged would sexually assault and domestically abuse her (her boyfriend at the time was her pimp), but people like to leave that out because it doesn't allow them to tear her down.

Continue acting holier than thou, I guess but be grateful you were never put in the type of situations Cardi had to be in due to her low income upbringing.

So are you saying just because she was a sex worker she should get away with actual crimes? Sex workers only steal and drug people out of necessity and due to their upbringing? That is bullshit, you make a choice to become a sex worker just like she could have chose to work at her local McDonald’s and be a law abiding citizen.

No. I'm saying that she was in a dangerous situation and did what she needed to do in order to survive. She didn't drug them just because she wanted their money, she was put in situations where she was going to be raped so she drugged them and stole their money in order to get out of the situation and make a better life for herself.

And how much would she make at a McDonalds? Enough to feed her whole family? Your whole post just reeks of privilege and is not very sympathetic to the conditions some people have to live in. Not saying she should have stole (and she is obviously regretful about doing that), but the reality is that sex work pays much more than a minimum wage job at a fast food joint. She didn't choose to be a sex worker, she was forced in to that occupation as that was the only way she could make enough money to sustain herself. If the law is always on the side of rich white men, I don't blame minorities for being jaded.
