Every 60 seconds, Americans pour more about $7 million into the U.S. retail industry. Consumers buy an average of 1,440 McDonald’s burgers and 5,695 Starbucks drinks every minute of every day.

It’s no surprise that Americans are big spenders — the U.S. retail market totaled $3.2 trillion last year, and it’s expected to climb even higher this year, with online retail growing at a rapid pace.

By 2018, annual online spending is expected to surpass $2,000 per person, according to Forrester Research. Amazon alone sells more than $84,000 worth of items online every minute.

When will your country???????

Also healthy food is so high that poor families have to eat at places like Mcdonalds.

Poor families should just be eating at home instead to save money.

Vegetables, fruits and beans are dirt cheap, and really healthy. Shopping wisely it's also not hard to find good cuts of meat at a reasonably cheap price.

If this was UK i'd be like ... ewwwww whyyyyyy?

but it's US where McDonald's doesn't taste like dry cardboard.

i don't eat at McD's often in the states... maybe three times a year... but it's not because the burgers taste bad...i can tell you that much... guilty guilty pleasure a cheeseburger or quarter pounder with cheese!!!

The problem is education. The general public of America aren't educated on what's healthy or not. You know it's a problem when public schools consider pizza to be a vegetable.

Also, unhealthy processed instant foods are far cheaper than fresh veggies because the government subsidizes billions of dollars to farmers to grow corn for corn syrup to be put in processed foods and soybeans to be fed to animals, the cheapest of meats goes towards fast food meat production.

Mcdonald is ok...maybe it's just the one near me but I can taste the fatty grease sometimes in my nuggets bleh~ and the bakery bun on the blt is too hard for me.

It's weird how the nuggets taste horrible when it's cold tho

I like their new bacon clubhouse tho.
