I’ve read Korean fans comments calling him a genius for lyrical wordplay, super looking forward to some of them breaking down the lyrics in korean for us, for now I want them to enjoy the high with us all.

There's so much to unpack in one song. I love his wordplay here!

 

I also love this verse:

The first question,

The three syllables of my name and the word 'but' that should come before any of those

 

He's really self-aware of his past ignorance and he reads what people say about him, all the criticism and the hate. It keeps him up at night and no matter what, he can never turn back time to reverse his past mistakes. So he sees people throwing his name out to deflect every single time an idol or Korean celebrity blunders and calls them out on their hypocrisy.

His "mistakes" weren't even that big tbh, yet he still feels sorry till this day & still carry the burden of guilt & shame. He don't need people to keep reminding him & bringing back of his past mistakes whenever somebody's fav fucked up, he do it enough by himself.

Namjoon the most self aware person there is & we don't deserve him
