I had never had it before it was so scary!!!

I heard voices and saw these HUGE robot spiders. I kinda knew I had to "fully wake up" but every time I tried moving I was back on my bed as if somebody had rewinded what I was doing eventually blinking alot did the trick and I fell back asleep. I learned that moving your eyes alot side to side can stop it so I used a tool without even knowing!

I woke up feeling not at all rested and after the sleep paralysis I had a very complicated vivid trippy dream so my night was....interesting

Have you ever had sleep paralysis what was it like?

I had and it was scary like Ièm dying or going into deep state with no control over my body, I try biting my lips but it didnèt work..

I couldnèt do anything, I felt that my brain needed lots of sleep as I have not slept much so my brain have taken control of me...

I felt that I have traveled to another realm of the possible universe, I have seen being shooking me and scaring me as I watched everything unfold on to me in my brain :(

My brain is me so I took control of me :(

I usually “dream†of someone being on top of me, or someone just walking around the room. I get it when I’m especially stressed out, or if I sleep in an uncomfortable position.

Blinking can help, but it started to make me feel more stressed. What helps me is breathing exercises. Now when I get it, I just sigh and get on w it lol

I was sleeping on my stomach, and became conscious all of a sudden. I couldn't move and whenever I tried to lift my head, I kept hearing a brassy metal noise ringing in my ear which would make me stop moving because it was so annoying to hear. I tried moving a couple of times to make sure I wasn't going crazy in hearing this weird noise. And sure enough, if I moved I'd hear it, and if I didn't move I wouldn't hear it. It was really strange. It was also really weird because my eyes were closed, but I could "see" these long black arms at my left arm and right leg. After I really figured out that I couldn't really do anything, I just got tired of it and ignored it and went back to sleep LOL

Had it once while lying on my back. It was really scary, i heard my mothers voice calling me but i couldn't response, i then heard another voice but couldn't really understand what he/she/it was saying. It felt like someone was sitting on my chest and pushing me into my bed and a black silhoutte was appearing next to me, it looked like a man completely dressed in black with a black coat and hat. I don't know how i got out of it, but i managed to move myself again. Since then i got a trauma and can't sleep while lying on my back again.

I've had it multiple times but I typically don't see or hear anything, my eyes stay closed and I have to force myself to move.

Though, a few days ago, I was taking a nap on the couch and I woke up and when trying to go back to sleep I got sleep paralysis and I heard this loud electrical buzzing sound and my hands started going numb... so yeah that was the only strange experience I've had with sleep paralysis.

Sleep paralysis is scary. I remember reading about it before and my friend had it frequently back in middle/high school. So when I had it wouldn’t open my eyes. I felt like I could barely moved and I felt something was pressing against my chest. Almost felt like I had a hard time breathing. It was scary. I tried to move a lot and it went away after like 3-5 minutesz

I've had it a lot. The more scared and stressed you get the worst the dreams become. Usually it's when I've not been sleeping properly for a while. I've had it where I seem to be in different rooms, or things around my room change, or there are weird people, or weird things in my room, each time I try to move but there's a weight on my chest and when I try to shout I can't.

One really bad one I had, I could hear people in my room and I opened my eyes, i was paralyzed and saw these shadow people all in black moving around my room. Apparently they noticed I opened my eyes and froze. All I heard was "She can see us!" So I shut my eyes again real quick. Then I could finally move and could see there was nothing there. It freaked me out so much!

The reason the dreams are always nightmarish I think is because there's a fear response activated when you wake up in sleep paralysis? I went through a time where I was having so many, even multiple in one night. For me what works best is to not fight it, accept that it's not real, it's normal and I'll be able to move again. If you get past the fear and imagine something positive you can end up just having a nice lucid dream.
