How to price photos ??

Somebody wants to buy a photo that I took to use on promotional posters and pamphlets, I want to sell it but have no idea how much is apropriate to charge? I don't wanna price too low or too high.Googled it but can't find much about this other than online sites on which you can sell them.

Am I also charging the use of the photo for the certain amount of times it will be used, or charge for giving permission to use as much as the person pleases?? Idk what

As to the first it would depend on the local market where you are.

On the second question, you need to decide whether you are just going to grant temporary rights(a set amount of time and not of uses) to your photo or if you want to give all the rights to the buyer in exchange for compensation. Whatever you do it needs to be spelled out clearly in an contract you make.

Thank you! But how would the temporary rights work when it comes to posters and pamphlets? Do they need to stop using them and make new ones or just stop printing them? Would probably end up the second option beacause I don't really know if they woukd stop using my photo. Still trying to figure a price (for permanent rights)
