Is there a Wiccan thread?; Happy late Mabon to the South Wiccans

I want to be a wicca, sounds so cool

I like that is conected with nature, I guess everyone takes from it's point of view; I don't pay much attention to the magical side,  but for example for Mabon that is when the nights become larger than the day I celebrated by making beet pudin, chucruth, organic yougurt, and soup, I also plan to make apple sweet and buy more indoor plants to prepair for winter smile.png

i remember there was a thread like 2 yrs ago for a witches line chat but it died. i'd love to have a thread of other witches to talk to but i'm pretty sure if there is one it's inactive.

Are you Wiccan ohbi.png ?; I think being Wiccan is kinda rare in this society mostly because modern society sees weird some of the practices, is kinda secretive too because you can't show up at a family reunion and say you are one without they looking you funny, it's also a diverse pagan religion because we all conect to nature from different points of views, for example I think I need to return to nature ( in my personal experience ), but other may take joy from making pagan altars and talking to the gods and goddesses, other making ornaments ..... it's so wide, that's why I think it's a kinda lonely pagan practice ( I don't wanna say religion ! )

i wouldn't consider myself wiccan since i don't identify with a single religion, but i do practice witchcraft and celebrate many holidays of the wiccan year.

i honestly think wicca, witchcraft, and all that may relate to it have become more popularized in recent years, especially with how many people are into astrology, crystals, and spiritual healing now. those don't necessarily = wicca or witchcraft, but they're fundamental aspects of it. but yes, it's still a thing that isn't very normal in society. i can't tell people i meet that i'm a witch without them looking at me like i'm going to curse them, even though i focus on healing. i've learned if i'm going to tell anyone about that part of myself, i have to know them very well first so they don't get weirded out before they get to know me. and with the false portrayal in the media that witchcraft = satanism/black magic, i certainly can't tell my conservative, religious extended family, or when i go to christian churches.

i don't think being pegan/wiccan is lonely at all; you just have to find your own community, whether it be at those metaphysical supply shops at malls, or an online community, we're all here to support each other.

I was in that chat lol but I lost my Line account laugh.png

i was too but everyone stopped talking to each other after a week so i left lol

Well anyway I think being Wiccan is being conected with nature and there'r no rules because we don't have a pope or a profet, therefor as long as you are in contact with seasons, animals, plants, the elements you are a wiccan by default and you can comeback when need it

That's a lovely way to put it, and yes it's too attached to the sensasionalist aspects of the pagan practices, Cernurnos is the spirit of the woods not the devil of christianity; To me it has become an organic religion, it's productive in many aspects, body and soul

i mean, connecting with nature is certainly an aspect of paganism, but if we're going by strict definition, pagan means religion/beliefs that aren't christian/islamic/judeo. pagans are also usually polytheistic, and worship nature rather than just being in contact with it (unless that's what you meant?). you can appreciate nature and give it respect, but i don't think that automatically makes you pagan unless you really identify with the general beliefs/worship.

oh i just realized you said wicca specifically not paganism adhsk

I worship nature and i'm in contact with it, the ancient gods are a token that represent different aspects of nature and i'm far and above the institutions of men ( and women!) laugh.png

edited: lmao no legally!!!!, but in terms of a pope, an iman,etc....nature has it's own ways to tell you when you stray away from it's practices

i don't really go to any wiccan site in particular, but if i wanna know something i'll google it and determine if i can trust the site (since i mostly work with stones most of the sites i'm familiar with are about crystals idk if you're into that lol). here's a site i always recommend, it's a shop that's near where i live but the owner posts lots of helpful blog posts https://www.sagegoddess.com/blog/

also youtube is great source. lots of wicca/pagan youtubers post videos of advice and such and they're usually pretty enthusiastic about it.

Wicca has always been fascinating for me and I have looked at videos and visited websites on it. I want to learn more but in Asia most people don't know what it is or they probably think your trying to learn black magic since that's still a thing here
