MochaLatte 1,682 Posted March 21, 2019 Share Posted March 21, 2019 So, this PD101 season is likely gonna be just as wild and popular as the previous ones, but the huge difference is that this new group will be getting a 5 year contract... so more people will likely tune in since there won't be that 1 yr sad disbandment like for I.O.I. and W1... but for fans of contestants who are already in a group (speaking to my fellow Alices), how do you feel about the possibility of group members being split apart for 5 yrs? like Minhyun with Nuest, he was only away for a little over a yr promoting as Wanna One but there are already crazy internal fanwars... but now he's gonna promote with Nuest after 1 yr so there's a big difference... did Plan A make a mistake by just sending 2 of the Victon members and not all of them together? do you think there shouldn't be such a tight clause which forbids PD101 final members to promote with their original groups during all those years (if it doesn't interfere with the new group's promotions)? i'm kinda confused at how I feel about Byungchan and Seungwoo being on PD101.. of course it's a huge opportunity but Byungchan is the most well known member and Seungwoo is the leader of the group... why not send all the members? (like, Nuest.. now, that's what you call promoting and true exposure to the public) it's like Plan A didn't think it through very well and just decided to give up on Victon (knowing fully well that if they make it, they'd be away for 5 yrs and also not notifying fans about it until some filming has already been done...) :/ any thoughts guys? especially fans of contestants who are already in a tight group? If certain members make the final group and get popular, what will happen to the other group members? The lesson learnt from past produce seasons is that going solo is more beneficial than adding them back from the group. If the other group members don't gain popularity in the 5 year time period that their groupmate is gone, I'm afraid the group may be abandoned. pinkpanda_spirit 14,647 Posted March 21, 2019 Share Posted March 21, 2019 well I think it's still a good thing for the group... only if they let them promote after a while (like 1 year only with the pd101 group and then they can promote with both). but if they can't join their OG group for 5 years then it's not gonna benefit the team at all.
