I think yes, you can be having fun in bed with someone you are not close to, even a stranger if it's a hookup, but you probably won't make out passionately with them for hours as you would with someone who's special to you. Kisses are more built on feelings.

 

In bed usually people do not even look at the faces of their current partners, they usually do it because they have sexual needs, nothing more or less. (not always of course, but I am talking about it generally)

Tbh I get bored of sex after certain amount of time. I get overwhelmed and after i come Im just exhausted to where Im over it, but give it a few seconds and im into it for a while longer. idk which i'd say I prefer, honestly. idk which i'd say have more passion/love. I mean Im not with any1 rn, but I will hookup with my ex, and can still do both. even tho we are not in love anymore. I think its enjoyable for what it is, but would be more enjoyable (and was when we were tgt) if I was committed to someone. But for now./..I prefer the sex, the making out lleads to that anyway

though i've been with guys in the past who have been heavenly to kiss, i'm not too much a fan of making out in general and my current boyfriend and i don't exactly "match styles" with kissing.

 

what i actually find surprisingly intimate is resting your head on someone's chest (not just their shoulder, their chest).

I mean at least for me it's the other way around, first you kiss make out and stuff and then, after experiencing that, you get to the point you're comfortable enough having sex with said person. Even when hooking up with random strangers in a club they aren't as apprehensive about making out or dancing very passionately and close to each other, but that doesn't guarantee you'll have sex with them. Anyway it also depends on your personality and how passionate you can be as a lover.
