The media got their hands on a lot of direct evidence, "the golden phone group" conversation. This is quite rare. And they are milking it to the last.

And the Yuri holding CEO who has been in the group with the police connection, also gets the heat. Not just the idols.

Also these idols are roosted for their own actions and not taking the heat for someone else. So I wouldnt call them puppets in this case.

 

Regarding more powerful people, without direct evidence it is hard to report much. Since this "everybody knows but noone talks" makes it risky for reporting.
