[teens stories] KIDS NOWADAYS BECAME SO WEIRD....

I took a shower with my mom at the gym and came out and there was a kid who looked like a 4th grader from elementary school who was crying while holding unto his phone. He was screaming and yelling while crying so I got surprised so I asked him why he was crying.
And he said "my phone closed because it had no more battery".... So I asked him if I should go call his mom and at the same time his mom came out of the shower.
She went to her kid and slapped him (T/N: non-violent context) and said "why are you crying because your battery went out?!!! Are you gonna die if you can't look at your phone for a bit??!!"

There are definitely a lot of kids who are addicted to their phones now. Even my cousin, she's only a 6th grader and she's on her phone all day long

"I saw a white marine penguin. There's no reason for this picture. It's cute."

ㅇㅇ I feel like it's good for you mentally not to have your phone. It's good that you can access a lot of information, but it hurts your head and you'll just become a slave to your phone. This is just the analog generation, no sensitivity at all.

ㅇㅇ Wow.. I'm shocked. Their whole world is nothing but a small screen

ㅇㅇ ?.. I thought that I read the post wrong and had to read it 3 times... I'm shocked

ㅇㅇ There are only a few people who don't fall to the temptation of looking into their phonesã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

ã…‡ I don't think that he was crying because his phone had no more battery but more because he was doing something with his phone and it shut down so he lost it? I feel like he was crying because he was mad

I've known people who bought their 2 year old kid an iPad. All he wanted to do was watch videos and would throw tantrums if they took it away. It was hard for him when he started going to school. He's better now but looking back at it they had no control over him

Children don't need phones. I had my first phone when I was 17 yo because I wasn't allowed before. I hated not having a phone when I was a teenager but I realise now that it was for my own good.

Nowadays, I'm so addicted to my phone, I've had to download an app which blocks my iPhone while I'm studying.

Yeah, I was shocked when I watched the return of superman. The twins were addicted, and last episode, William was too much on the phone.

I worked in a school, and I saw 3 years old kids walking with their mom's phone while going to school and the mom had a hard time taking it back.

what does this even... mean

what a shitty mom. first of all, young kids cry over stupid shit, that's literally the whole part of being a kid and lacking the emotional regulation of a grown adult. secondly, if your kid is addicted to his phone, that's your own damn fault and 100% your responsibility.

I got my frist phone at 8 years old ( it was one of the old 2010 nokia), I wasn't addicted to mine, as a matter of fact I barely use it. It's recently I became addicted my phone, I wish I can go back to my old ways.

seeings 7 year olds running around with iphones is so weird

i didn't get a phone until high school

my first actual touch phone was when I got into university, before that I had the same ipad for 4 years. Back in grade 7 it was weird because I had no electronic devices meanwhile I see 6 year olds with iphones and ipods
