In light of recent events, anyone think Yoochun's case should be re-investigated?

Remember that not one not two not three but FOUR women came out against him?

Remember that even when he was "acquitted" the court ALSO stated that one of the woman who filed a lawsuit was NOT lying?

Remember that Yoochun did NOT have their consent? That he NEVER paid them even if they were salon girls?

Remember that his lawyer cited the fact that the women didnt "struggle" enough in the space of the bathroom for it to be called "real" rape?

Remember those other women who gave up and withdrew their case and everyone accepting that they must have been gold diggers?

Everyone just kinda gave up and accepted that he got away with it bc there was no "proof" against him. I remember reading one girl's account of it and it was horrifying. Yoochun's image may be ruined but he deserves to be behind bars just as much as the other guys in the kakao talk scandal

Hnnng, they really called em gold diggers?

Many rape victims give up on court cases cause of how poorly they get treated, it is generally too much. Like the other side brands them as someone is reckless and easy, and trashes the womens character.

And people wonder why rape victims dont speak up...

@ op yes these cases should be reopened. i always found it real strange how every female assault victim of a celebrity is lying. i would add onew and baekho too (hate to say it bc i like both)

He went to a club in Busan and a woman filed a claim of sexual harassment but his company claimed “The woman filed the charges mistakenly. She has since redacted her statement and we have received an apology from her. In the future we hope that such misunderstandings will not happen.†This came to light at the same moment that Yoochun's so it went under the radar.

this sucks to hear, i really like him (he's like the korean robert sheehan). but that explanation is obviously bull, just like in the onew case, so i hope her case is opened up again. too many men getting accused of crimes and blaming the accusations on the female's mistake/hysteria/greed.

Onew's case really was an accidental one, though, everyone who saw him and was with him that day said he didn't do it on purpose (like, guy wasn't even capable of standing up on his own since he was so blackout drunk)

I remember how they made FALSE claims

THREATENED him and tried to BLACKMAIL him

were ARRESTED and sentenced to prison

CHANGED their stories multiple times

Surely if it really happened they wouldn't be the ones arrested and sent to prison?

Surely they would have went to the police first and not a gang member to extort money from him?

Surely they wouldn't have apologized NINE times?

Surely when the police sent them a subpoena they would go to it to back their story up and not runway form the summons?

Surely they wouldn't have withdrawn their charges against Yoochun?

Yes.

First, for his (alleged) victims, and the future victims of the rapists who'll think they can do whatever they want.

And also, if only because I'd rather be really, really sure that he was guilty (which I'm like 95% sure of by now but...). And I'd rather have him in jail than in fanmeetings, talking about a future OT5 reunion (which I wanted for years, mind you), and mentioning Jaejoong and Junsu as if nothing happened.

I want to get rid of that small lingering doubt "But what if he was innocent? What if we destroyed his career for nothing?" that comes back from time to time, ever since I decided to just give up on him.

thanks for the explanation. ngl as a long time shawol, i kinda avoided this case bc i didn't want to have to wrestle with any implications, which means i missed out on a lot of crucial information. and when jonghyun passed, i pretty much forgot about it until recently. so i admit to be wrong there.

i guess what i should have said is that regardless of my adoration of these male figures, im always skeptical of their innocennce. i mean the women are always lying, always mistaken, always gold-diggers -- you would think there wasn't a decent woman outside of seoul. this sort of frequency is uncanny, which always makes me assume that the male is in the wrong and settles out of court as to not get caught. i know that's a pretty nefarious thing to assume about people you're supposed to like, but i can't shake it.

but thanks for providing me with context to the onew case, i do breathe a bit better, but i'll have to look it up more on my own. same with the baekho case (i know that one was real messy).

I was in the middle of writing a long, scathing reply to you...then I realized you're a pathetic dumbass knowingly defending a serial rapist and I dont give a shit what you think.

Fuck yes. Throughout this whole mess I can't help but flash back to 2016 and compare not just Yoochun and these other guys' despicable offences but the fans' reactions. The latter is horrifyingly similar, Kpop fangirls' complete disregard for their fellow women and ignorance about the reality of rape cases continue to disgust me.

Realistically speaking, if he was acquitted of all charges back then, I have no hope a reinvestigation would make a difference now, because they'd just go through the same arguments about sex workers, the same lack of evidence to prove a rape case...unless through these ongoing corruption investigations it's somehow revealed police/law officials were bribed to orchestrate his case in his favor (as was most likely done). Or unless someone around him (the managers he used to frequent these places with) speaks up, considering he was accused of serial rape and someone like his manager had to have known his MO. I mean his fucking DNA was found on the girl's clothing, he couldn't even prove he'd paid the girls for their services to make it seem consensual, and he was able to walk away scot-free. But for the sake of the women involved, I agree it's worth a try anyway and this would be a good time to reopen it.

That he has the audacity to show his face and crawl back to the entertainment industry after what he did, the way he behaved afterwards and the way he's allowed to carry on while everyone's conveniently looked past his actions is so fucking nauseating, I really hope Korean media think along the same lines as you and bring it back to the public's attention.

aka you are unable to contribute any facts or evidence to disprove any of my facts and so have to resort to pathetic insults, got it.

Forget in light of recent events, it was already freaking suspicious how he had at least 4 accusers but he faced nothing at all. Nada.

One of the women had multiple court trials that came to the conclusion she wasn't lying but still her case wasn't brought against him? How does that even make sense? It was bullshit back then, it's still bullshit now.

iirc Onew was even apologetic and remorseful to the woman whose leg he accidentally grabbed when he stumbled, he never denied it (and considering he couldn't remember anything, all he had was the words of those who were there to tell him what happened) and unlike other celebs like Seungri who only decide to go to the police days after a scandal broke out, he went back to the police station around the next day once he was fully sober for proper questioning (he was brought in to the police station the night he was drunk, but because he was so drunk he couldn't even answer properly). I think he even said he was going to either give up drinking or stop going to clubs after that incident but I can't remember.
