"People who tried jjajangmyeon after looking at K-dramas said it was below their expectations"

original post: here

1. The taste of ddeokbokki is seriously something that's hard to acquire for foreigners, I don't know why people always recommend it

2. I live in Australia and the K-pop fans here eat more Korean food than me ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ I feel like it's a waste of money to eat at Korean restaurants so I don't really go but the kids here f*cking like it.. they like bibimbap, Korean BBQ, jjajangmyeon and naengmyeon

3. It's not really related to the topic but if you go overseas, the Chinese and Japanese restaurants are all clean and well decorated while Korean restaurants look like they are from the 70-80's... the visual seriously doesn't make me want to go inã… ...

4. True

5. I bet that none of them have tasted real Korean food ã…‹

6. Rather than things like bibimbap, naengmyeon or kimchi, food like samgyeopsal are much more popular, we need to push the meat

7. To be honest... compared to Chinese and Japanese food, the history of Korean food is just way shorter... of course we have food from Goryeo-Joseon traditions but they've all been forgotten. Most of the foods that we're currently eating are from after the 1960's

8. They are bashing our food who has over 100 years of history, I'm seriously pissed

9. Me too there are a lot of foreign foods that I don't enjoyã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ looks like everyone has different taste

10. Is this from Allkpop?ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

I've never tried Korean food, I tried Japanese tho and it's definitely not my taste.

It's ok to not like a foreign cuisine though - I watched some videos of Koreans trying Italian food and they didn't like it. At first I was ???????? but then I understood tastes differ and Korean cuisine is very different. To them our food doesn't have taste since they are used to spicy and such.

I find japanese food very bland and fishy. Sushi was disgusting. Not for me at all.

Chinese is really good, but I've mostly had an indian-ized version of it in my country so idk if I'll like authentic Chinese as much.

The only Korean food I've had is their fried chicken which was great.

Real. Korean food is only trendy because of Kpop. Chinese and Japanese food are superior in every sense , you have to be delusional to think otherwise.

Not really.

I live in Latin America and many of my friends who are not into KPOP or K-Dramas, at all, love to eat Korean food. They say that it´s healthier than Chinese and a bit more diverse than Japanese...

Their words.

Personally among the three I prefer Japanese. Just depends on your personal taste. And note that there's not really "Chinese cuisine", China has different cuisines based on region, so you would have to compare region by region. Even Japan has different variations to their dishes based on region and prefecture.

I've only had Korean food a few times and it was good enough. Nothing that put a strong impression on me, yet I want to try more dishes cause a lot of the food looks good. But I don't live in an area that has any Korean restaurants. I can say 100% though that I wasn't a fan of half the side dishes they brought out when I did the Korean BBQ.

I really like what I've had of Korean food so far and I wouldn't call a C/average score justified. It's at least way more flavourful than anything Europeans eat.

I had ddeokbokki for the first time recently and I really enjoyed it, but I def get why some people wouldn't. It's a very unusual texture in western cuisine. (i'm not a tryhard for using the world cuisine, i'm a native french speaker and i forgot the english word for this contexte aaskajkf)
