I'm pretty sure if we look back at everything regarding Kpop,  that the things occurring recently aren't new events and long term actions that probably even surpass the ones revealed so far.

 

Hints why companies banned dating for females. Its to protect them so they don't get exposed like this because this has way more long term effects than just fans but even as a marriage option. I'm sure most in Korea don't want a gf whose sex tape was leaked to half the world. 

 

I blame fame as a huge factor as well as fans who have enabled their actions. When so many girls throw themselves at them to be with "Oppa", it probably really causes huge levels of lack of respect for most guys.

A lot of companies don't even see their artists as humans but as profit and merchandise and they only ban them from dating (or pretend to ban them) because of money aka to cater to extreme fans' delusions of having their idols single aka having some miniscule chance to date them

not rly. the reasons idols can't date is bc of negitive fan reaction. companies encourage delusion & fantasies w/ idols for better sales so the culture doesn't change.

it's naive to think there's only one reason for the dating ban lol

 

there are so many good reasons they have those bans in place, from a business perspective i mean

 

1. dating is a distraction and idols need to be devoting all their energy to success

2. dating attracts scandals

3. dealing with pregnancies is probably a nightmare. abortions are illegal in south korea AFAIK

4. possibility of sex crimes, like you said

5. breaking the illusion to fans = potential loss of profit

6. kids in love do dumb shit lol

Omg yes ofc, it's just this thread is talking abt "company protecting female idols" so I only said female. Either way, a company protecting their idols from sexual harassment from other idol still sound unbelievable for me, when often times the companies higher up are the one that molested the idols themselves.

I can guarantee you that idols aren't the only ones recording women without their consent and sharing it, so fame and "fans enabling" aren't valid excuses for shitty behavior.

Probably the shittiest line I've read all month. It's not a sex tape (or porn) when it's recorded without consent. Also, Baek Ji Young's sex tape was leaked by her shitty, blackmailing ex-manager. I hear she's happily married now. I'm sure decent human beings will not blame a woman for someone else's indiscretion.
