So... Lately I really like Dolce & Gabbana's Devotion bag. I reaaaally like it.

But honestly I don't really like D&G and dont really feel like giving them my money.

Especially because I would have to save up for around a year to get it.

And now in local shop I found really nice Devotion bag inspired bag.

The color is different (mint), shape is also a bit different, the buckle is slightly different, no logos on it.

But you still can see where the inspiration is coming from.

On the other hand I'm living in area where a lot of people dont know what the LV on bags mean.

So what now. Should I buy?

Since in fashion everybody takes inspiration from everybody, mid-tier or low-tier brands usually redo ideas of high fashion brands. It also isnt carbon copy, yet it is similar looking and some people who know the original could say it is just another fake bag (which it may be). But internally I'm not sure since in the end it most likely is just another fake bag.

I have the same dilemma. I love the Celine Luggage tote, and have wanted it for a while now. While I could spend the money for it . . . . do I really want to spend nearly 3K for a purse?! I bought a purse from Amazon that was very similar, and although I got compliments on it, I knew I still wanted the Celine. Liking purses is hard. But honestly, do what's financially feasible to you. If you're not a fan of D&G, get the one that's "inspired" by it.

I'm going to be THAT person right now. Honestly, the knockoff industry is a dark and vile thing. It's not just giving money to those engaging in illegal activities (design and copyright theft, child labour, etc...), but becoming an active participant as well. The thing with fakes is they are always going to look quite fake. I would rather find something cute/fun and uniquely it's own versus going this route. This is just coming from me though, because I live in land of the knockoff/"inspired" Coach bags. Instead of having the desired effect of making the owner look designer carrying them, most people can tell the "Coach" bags are cheap/fake at a glance.

I share your opinion about this. Thats why I havent bought it yet.

Its just that even more known cheap brands like I am, H&M, Orsay, ZARA etc. are taking inspiration from high fashion brands so cute in the unique way isnt exactly thing. In fashion everyting is copy of everything. So the line between inspired and fake can be really thin.

Once I bought bag in local shop, not sure which one (but I think it was I am) and month later I saw photos of Jessica with exactly the same bag and people were saying it is worth same amounth of money as car lol. I got it for 50$, which is cheaper, but the knockoffs are usually around 10$.

I would say go for it.

Even for clothing, there are plenty of copying out there. Such as forever 21, fashion nova, boohoo etc who will copy designer or celebrity outfits and sell at a cheaper price .

We're in a time of dupes, fakes & imitations. Take advantage of the alternative, if you would like. The original price is way too expensive

Honestly, there's really nothing original about the D&G except the buckle; it's a pretty standard-looking quilted bag. So I say go for it if you'll be able to use mint green with your wardrobe.
