For movies like Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Twilight (as well as some other YA novels), I watched the movie first, for the next season of Arrowverse where they're planning a 'Crisis on Infinite Earths' crossover, I'm planning on reading the comics before-hand, just so I know what they end up changing compared to the source material.
