Lee Seok Cheol And Lee Seung Hyun Revealed To Have Sued 2 Former Groupmates And More For Defamation

The lawyer of former The East Light members Lee Seok Cheol and Lee Seung Hyun revealed how the two brothers are doing.

 

On March 5 at 10:20 a.m., the first hearing of producer Moon Young Il and Media Line’s CEO Kim Chang Hwan, who are being accused of assaulting the brothers, was held at the Seoul Central District Court.

During the trial, Moon Young Il admitted to all charges, while Kim Chang Hwan and Media Line president Lee Jung Hyun denied the charges, saying that they had not engaged in, aided, or abetted child abuse. As a result, the prosecution made the decision to summon Lee Seok Cheol and Lee Seung Hyun to the court as witnesses.

After the trial, Lee Seok Cheol and Lee Seung Hyun’s lawyer Jung Ji Seok shared, “The two are doing fine. Seung Hyun is entering his second year of high school, and Seok Cheol was admitted into the department of broadcasting and entertainment at Seoul Cyber University. Seung Hyun doesn’t have to go to the company anymore, so he is doing well. Seok Cheol received several offers as well.â€

 

During the hearing, Media Line denied all allegations, and it seems the legal dispute is likely to be prolonged as further complaints from both sides are filed. Lee Seok Cheol filed an additional lawsuit in January on charges of defamation.

 

The lawyer explained, “The brothers sued five people for defamation, including CEO Kim Chang Hwan, President Lee Jung Hyun, a Media Line employee who created social networking accounts, and Lee Eun Sung and Jung Sa Gang, who said at a press conference that Lee Seok Cheol and Lee Seung Hyun’s father had abused them.â€

 

At an earlier press conference held by Media Line, Lee Eun Sung and Jung Sa Gang had said, “We heard from Lee Seok Cheol that their father came to Seoul and beat them severely early in the morning. He said his father usually makes them lie face down and hits them a lot.â€
