On March 4th, AKB48's Team B captain Juri Takahashi announced her graduation from the group on stage. During the encore, Takahashi started by saying “I have something to announce. I’ll be graduating from AKBâ€. Then she revealed her plans to debut in Korea, “I’ll be debuting again from Woollim Entertainment in Koreaâ€. Her debut date has not been decided yet.

Last year, Takahashi participated in a Korean audition program ‘Produce 48’ where she competed with other girls to debut in IZ*ONE but did not end up making the group. “After that, I was contacted by a Korean company, we discussed it a lot and I made the decision for myselfâ€

(Source: Girls Channel, Yahoo Japan)

1. [+877, -18] Her features look like that kind of (plastic) face huh

2. [+838, -7] Why do you love and dream of debuting in Korea at a time like this?

3. [+710, -13] I wonder if she’ll ever come back to her home country? I don’t know who she is but she worked hard

4. [+628, -7] I don’t think anyone can get that popular if they go to Korea. Don’t try to look like you’re having fun

5. [+475, -3] Goodbye~

6. [+426, -8] Honestly, Korean people are constantly making comparisons like “Which one is more famous, Korean Kpop or Japanese anime characters?â€

7. [+400, -3] Isn’t it a good thing that she wants to do it by herself? Just don’t end up regretting ok

8. [+333, -1] She debuted in Japan and now she’s going to quit to debut again in Korea instead? How annoying

9. [+225, -1] Sakura Miyawaki is active as an idol in Korea too, I wonder why she joined a Korean group though?

10. [+218, -5] Why Korea? This timing is terrible

11. [+216, -3] Why in Korea?

12. [+166, -5] Go leave then! Please never come back to Japan after this

13. [+135, -1] Just do whatever you want

14. [+75, -2] Is she giving up on Japan?

15. [+48, -1] Isn’t the topic title weird!? She’s not an Ex-AKB member already right?

honestly a lot more tame than i thought... anyway, it's her dream so i'm happy for her. no idol's career is forever, jnetz know that too. so there's plenty of time for her to explore all kinds of things!

Anybody who stays complacent with where they're at at the moment never grow. Juri displays ambition and by trying a new venture, she'll be a better person through hardship instead of plateauing.

Juri!!! Let's go!

Excited to see hear the news! she was one of my pd48 biases! But I really wish the new group had the remaining J-members from produce48 too.On a side note, I would really love it if the akb48 family would have added a permanent 48 affiliated group like izone is where they promote in Japan and Korea but not as temporary group, but with even amount of J and K members.

and yall thought knetz were bad

Ehh, jnetz comments have always been worst.. it's just no one really noticed because there hasn't been much translations around.. tbh these comments are pretty tame and expected

These comments are hell low in toxicity compared to knetz. Jnetz can be extreme but never like knetz. And of course they will feel this way. The Japanese idol system are in the process of re-establishing themselves so leaving at such moment will cause lots of disappointment in the fans. Like one of the jnetz said, it is her dream and can only hope she doesn't regret it knowing all that knetz have said about j-idols. It won't be easy, for that I am sure, but live your dream Juri. Just don't let them hurt you or get to you on the way

ive been losing more and more faith in humanity by the day

it's really sad

Don't. People arent that bad. Its seriously just the feeling of being completely anonymous which makes some people go on the net and vent their everyday frustration by hating on totally unrelated things they usully dont even care about.

The comments aren't THAT bad tho. I've seen worse, from both Korean and Japanese tbh.

Juri can do whatever she wants.

I just wonder how she will feel when Woollim debut her future group again in Japan.

That's the core reason why Korean companies recruit Japanese...
