GIRLS : why would you do this?

there is some girl I met recently from mutual friends, I know she likes me as my mutual friends told me, she keeps talking how she likes me, finds me cute and etc repeatedly when I am not around.

I asked her to go out with me on some event, and she said "maybe, I'll let you know". she did not reply later that day.

Do some girls usually do this lol? you don't hangout with a guy you like unless you are with many of your mutual friends -.-?

Maybe she's nervous to be alone with just you. When I have a crush on someone I always feel kind of intimidated and anxious if I'm alone with that person because I question in my head whether they like me back or not. Otherwise she could just be insecure and have low self esteem and think that she isn't good enough for you or something. If I like someone and I perceive them as too good for me I tend to distance myself even if I really like that person because I'm quite insecure so she may be the same.

damn, that's actually really confusing, how are we supposed to move things forward then? why do you feel intimidated tho? Do some guys come off as too aggressive/masculine ? like as if they are leading on , scares you or something?

To move things forward make sure you make your feelings towards her as clear as possible, as in if you want to be more than friends make sure you let her know exactly that or she may feel silly because she might think you still only see her as a friend and want to go to the event as just friends. I tend to personally feel intimidated because I get scared that the guy I like will realise that he doesn't really like me and I'm a shy person so when people get closer to me I tend to push them away even if I'm interested in them. If she is shy then making advances towards her would be more effective because she'll be unlikely to make any advances towards you, just make sure not to be too pushy though because it may scare her away. This is all just my personal experience though so it may not be the case for the girl you like. I hope I've been helpful though smile.png

thanks for response, have another question, you seem to fit type of girl I have questions about.

Do you usually use alcohol to let your fear "go away"? I have noticed some girls get really open and affectionate when they start drinking?

I personally don't drink alcohol at all because I'm quite health conscious. My friend who has a similar personality to me tends to get more confident when she's had a drink and speaks to guys even though she's too scared to when sober though.

haha okay thx. one moree question!

what do you mean when you say make feelings clear as possible? do you want us to explicitly tell you we like you? that kind of removes interesting part tho

Yes, if you explicitly tell her that you like her it will make her feel more at ease because she won't have any insecurities that her feelings are one sided.

  • 2 weeks later...

She's just being shy or nervous and despite how much you like someone for a lot of people is still weird to go out with a person you don't know that well.

If you're also interested in her it would be easier to first hang out with some more people first until both of you get used to one another and then going out just both of you.
