is it official??? will she debut as a soloist or in woollim's new ggroup (once eubi and chaewon comes back from iz*one...)?

It’s official and the article confirms she’s going to be in Woolims new GG, not sure if Chaewon and Eunbi will be in the group but if I’m not wrong I believe IZ*ONE contracts do allow individual promotions so maybe they will join the new girl group???

They don't allow individual promotions, that's why J-line is on hiatus from AKB48

“The last 1 year, they can promote with their original groups/companies (mainly affects AKB48 Group)â€

So pretty much it is possible that Eunbi and Chaewon could promote with Juri

Nope. Their last official statement said they can't.

I'm so happy that Juri is joining the same company that houses my favorite group of all time, I wish her much success!! ^o^

That being said... would it even be wise for Woollim to wait for Eunbi and Chaewon? I see so many reasons why they shouldn't...

1) The Produce name doesn't give a big enough boost to post-Produce groups (i.e. Gugudan, DIA, Weki Meki) so it'd be a risk to wait

2) Lovelyz' contract is likely to be up for renewal in 2021 and while it's possible that they may all renew, it's also a bit risky to wait until then since that's when Iz*One disbands... and even if they do renew they will be a 7 year old group competing with a new generation... it just doesn't seem wise to wait that long

3) Eunbi was born in 1995 and while that certainly doesn't make her old (only one year older than me) it doesn't really help her as a KPop idol, I feel like she should set her eyes on going solo after Iz*One since she will be in her mid-20's by then

4) Juri would have to wait for two years to finally debut... which... yeah, would be part of the deal if that's what she agreed to do... but it's kind of odd too because she's not a nameless face, she has a strong fanbase in Japan... and it might benefit Woollim to strike while the iron is hot so to speak rather than potentially waiting until her name loses the power it currently has...

I mean... on the flip side the timeline could work out since Iz*One disbands closer to the beginning of 2021 and Lovelyz won't be up for contract renewal until around November... but that still doesn't really cancel out the other reasons...

But this also could give Juri time to adjust and develop her skills more... but still... she was born in 1997 so even she herself needs to be careful with waiting, nowadays people are debuting idols who were born well into the 2000's so if Woollim waits until 2021 she may be considered "old" by then... : |
