How important is finding your "ideal type" to you?

We all have our preferences but is it a "deal breaker" for you if they don't meet everything on your checklist?

I know a lot of people have certain types they date but wind up marrying someone who is completely different.

Part 2:

Also what if you really like someone and you find out you are not their ideal type.  Do you give up on pursuing them or continue to try to win them over?

I know for some people they either find it annoying or attractive that someone is working hard to win their love.  How do you feel about that?

I guess it's okay if he's slightly different from my ideal type but my ideal type is basically the values I'd like my SO to have so if he's much different from it then I'm not interested; I'd much rather stay single forever

If I like someone but they're not into me I wouldn't try again, I know very well that if someone you're really not interested in keeps pursuing you it's annoying; if he changes his mind he can tell me

not that important. i have my ideal types but the most important thing for me is to whether we're able to balanced out each other. whats the point of ideal types if we don't click at all?

that's how I feel.

Like I'm sure everyone has their preferences of what they like visually.  Certain features etc.  but all that is meaningless if there is no connection mentally.

haha. yeah... I guess it would depend on how the person pursues as well.  Like if they do it in a annoying way or a romantic/cute way.  Like if they are technically stalking someone after the person said they aren't interested of course that be annoying.  But idk.. maybe you might know the other person long time as a friend or something ... and you are all part of a click and you have always expressed interest in that person etc.

I don't have a particular ideal type but I guess I am quite fussy. At the end of the day I'm not just going to settle for any guy that shows an interest in me if I'm only slightly interested in them. For me attraction is important so if I don't find someone physically attractive as shallow as it sounds I'm unlikely to give them a chance. There was this one guy who liked me and he seemed nice at first but physically I just wasn't attracted to him so I made it obvious that I wasn't interested. He just wouldn't leave me alone though and started to act really creepy and borderline stalkerish so I dodged a bullet I guess. So basically acting too persistent is a bad thing in my opinion because it comes across a little desperate and obsessive.

I dont think realistically anyone has IDEAL TYPE

but everyone has certain charasteristics/features that are desirable

I can only see myself with girl with some of certain physical charasteristics(dont wanna share it), I have few favourite things which are MUST. I will never fall for a girl without those features

I think one thing that is a must in looking for that right woman is "no mustache".  you'd be surprised how many girls have hair on their upper lip.  but if so... waxing is a must.

yeah that is a must, also no hairy legs haha.

I can not make myself like girl even if she has the most gorgeous face I have ever seen, if she fails some of my MUST have features which I won't discuss here lol.

  I mean... even girls don't necessarily like 'hairy' guys either.

LOL.  ok.. I get the picture.  You don't want to discuss the details....

well... I was curious what others thought cuz I run into people I like and they make it clear what their ideal type is but I mean... it's more physical.  Like how important is it to others if they meet someone who they might click with but won't give them a chance cuz they lack a certain physical trait.  then again, guess can't judge.  we all have our preferences.

well, I was super into Asian girls for past 3 years~ , but recently I started liking girl from different race and distinct features (It used to be my ideal type before I started liking Asian girls more). so I would say I do not necessarily have ideal type -.-

I don't have a detailed 'ideal type' so it's really not that important and personally I find it silly.

There will surely be people who is more compatible with you but even then you won't find that out until you get to know each other better.
