The 2019 Grammys saw an almost 3M increase in viewers from last year

There was actually a lot of doubt surrounding this years grammys because of the lack of big acts in attendance to perform/for their nominations. Coupled with the fact that award show ratings have been dropping consistently every year, the 2019 Grammys should've seen a sharp decline from last years show. But 'somehow' it didn't, and actually saw an increase hurrplz.png

 

Fr though as someone who keeps up with the Grammy's every year this was one of the best nights I've seen in a while, not only because of BTS, but the overall vibe and performances were just good as far as tge Grammys are concerned.

lol a random twitter account says 22M watched the grammy's while every other news source said 19.9M people watched it...also citing Nielsen

The 19.9mil initial numbers were live viewing number, but the 22mil included delayed telecasts, etc

The article says ““THE 61st ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS†increased viewership from 19.96 million to 22 million viewers, a jump of +10% when live plus seven-day time-shifted and live plus same day out-of-home viewing was factored in, according to reporting issued for the awards show by NIELSEN. â€

 

So they added views probably from when the show was replayed or views from areas when it wasn’t shown live.
