I watched this drama for like 3-4 episodes, it got bored real quick... the acting of the lead couples are not really good, the girl just keeps open her eyes really wide and it looks weird... 

 

but she's really pretty though...She looks exactly what I have in mind with those type of roles that come from Chinese novel...

Yeah, for such a hit novel, it was surprising they got absolute newbies to do the drama since the story is so emotionally charged

 

In my head, I've always imagined Kris Wu/Elvis Han and Yang Zi/Dilreba to do a drama like this when I was reading the novel.

I think it's due to a fact that these two have a big label behind them, so they might get the role through connection... the girl is in Fan Bing Bing 's company after all...

I don't 100% hate nepotism but I hope people prove themselves if they got opportunities through it

 

Anyway, I saw the stills for the second arc of the story (the three year time jump) and the acting looks so much better there, male lead is killing it as the crown prince based from the snippets so we'll see if they redeem themselves later on.

 

I don't plan to marathon it till it's done. I'd rather hurt myself all in one go than do it in installments.

I cant stop watching this drama tho so addicting but prepare yourself for a world of hurt.

That betrayal hurts esp when you decide to watch a drama based on stills and have no clue about the plot lol. Im still in shock tbh
