Fandom translators play an integral part in the globalization of K-Pop?

“Fan translators play an important role in the globalization of K-Pop. Not only do they translate articles or video clips, they also explain a culture unfamiliar to foreigners and sometimes try to resolve misunderstandings about the artists. Through their voluntarism and passion, fans of different nationalities stay in unity and the industrial disadvantages of K-Pop are overcame.â€

Note: Google for once in lifetime was accurately able to translate from both computer and mobile devices.

Technology sure has come a long way since the ancient times without internet when communication was difficult.

inb4 kpop stans say ARMY didnt start this trend

Army started the trend of fansubbing? or do you just mean the tag

If it weren't for fansubs I never would have become a kpop fan to this extent tbh

That's why it was always my dream to become a fan translator because I thought it was like one of the most important things a fan could do

Yeah I would say so, it helps spread the artists message and fans to come together.

hmmm i don't think we started the trend, I think we used it the best though. It really helped our fandom and we have a large portion of translators.

Yes, they play a big role in connecting the international audiences with korean idols.

While i did learn korean and i understand it to some extent, i am still not at an advanced level. And reading these detailed translation helps me grasp the full meaning. I am always thankful for the hardworking army translators ohbi.png

A translation team like TLB for Pristin did a really good job to translate and sub every of their contents. I don't forget these many accounts who translate news, conversations between a fan and an idol, fancafe posts and more. Without them I wouldn't appreciate K-pop this mush.

Some labels now provide Eng subs, a good thing !

I'm confused by this comment because I hope you don't mean fandom translators.

Thank you for all the subbers who subbed shows like Strong Heart, Wild Bunny, 2pm Show,  that quiz show that use to come on, etc...  all the old good variety shows that use to come on because frankly, it's not the same as it was in the past.

Translators are heroes without caps, so many wouldn't have gotten into kpop if it wasn't fandom subs lovestruck.png
