What are the best STORY-BASED PC games you played?

for me :

- Dragon Age trilogy (even without DLC, the first game is already has a deep lore... try it with complete DLCs later.)

- Mass Effect trilogy (perfect sci-fi game imo, not including the Andromeda 'cause that game is shit),

- Fallout New Vegas (post-apocalyptic fun, with a really good playlist of BGM. it'll stuck in your head)

- Skyrim (game so vast and deep it feels like you never really completes it... you'll always find something new)

these games above offers you choices, lots of them. that's why i replayed it several times to know all the opportunities and consequences of my choices.

and then, those with a linear storyline but still good nontheless :

- Valkyria Chronicles (turn-based JRPG with great story and gameplay. kinda cliche but still made me cry like shit)

- Assassin's Creed (i'd recommend only the first and second games for actual great story and enjoyable gameplay)

- Bastion (indie game. simple yet beautiful and fun. good BGM too. just try it.)

Dragon Age: Origins. I was actually shocked with how much I gave a shit about the story when I normally don't.

Then I played Mass Effect and deep dived into that story but was no longer shocked that I loved it because now I knew that company could immerse me like no other.

I had an inkling way back when Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic came out that BioWare was really good at world immersion, but they really refined that over the years.

Dreamfall: The longest journey, I think I partially like it so much because it was my childhood and there's just something I can't put my finger on that I love about the game. The sequel Dreamfall chapters was also pretty good, but I have to admit the ending did disappoint me a little bit.

I also really liked the game What remains of Edith Finch, it was quite a bizarre game at points but I found it very enjoyable. Some people probably wouldn't really consider it a game though, I guess to an extent it's more like an interactive story because you don't have any control over the outcome nor is there any combat, tasks or anything like that nonetheless it is still good in my opinion.

Dragon Age Origins was also a great game, I've played it at least 5 times and I've never gotten bored of it. I think the interaction between the characters is what makes it such an enjoyable game. I love to mess about with mods and console commands on it, it's pretty funny sometimes.
