It just feels odd to throw trash directly in a trash can. I mean people could possibly do that but they'd have to actually wash it periodically so it doesn't stink. It's one thing to not use a bag for throwing away recyclables such as paper, but garbage such as food waste? That's disgusting. Plus when the garbage truck comes, some of that garbage will spill out and they're not going to go back and pick up the mess. My workplace once got a warning because someone didn't tie the trash bags properly before throwing them in the dumpster the night before so some of the garbage spilled out onto the ground when the garbage truck came and emptied out the dumpsters.
