I'm so sad she's leaving the group. I didn't follow April too much, but I knew Somin from KARA Project and I loved her, we know how much she wanted this.

I thought this thread would be on fire... I guess a lot of people are just shocked?
I really love Somin since baby Kara days, but April's concept and unexpected lineup kinda turned me off...
DSP is really messing up with her, from Puretty to what happened with Sojin and now April :/

 

Somin is really talented, I hope she'll find a way to come back, if that's what she wants of course <3

Most of the fallout is within the APRIL thread and other individuap threads made about this issue. I guess this thread will be alive so we can keep to date with what somin is doing back as a trainee again in dsp or perharps in another group.

I've loved Somin since Baby Kara too. I'm so sad but wish the best for her. She is a great lady with great talent that shouldn't be wasted.

What about if she doesn't want to be an idol? maybe an actress or retire the industry? (last option is wrong cause she is still in DSP so maybe she want to be famous in other way...)

I'll support her no matter what but I hope we see some from her soon... maybe an SNS account or some news...  I check her sister's instagram but no news hahaha

hi everyone!! i'm still pretty sad about somin's news :( i really liked her in baby kara, and didnt get a chance to get into april because i was busy, but i was rooting for them especially since somin was part of the group! 

do you guys have any news about her since she left? like a family member or friend or anything? i really hope she's not just gonna leave the industry

There's been no news so far, her sister even deleted her instagram pictures with Somin in them just before Somin left April

I'm reposting my scenario analysis from another thread, so that months down the road when we have more news about Somin, we can look back and make better guesses about what exactly happened...   my baby Somin...

 

At this point, i'm accepting both possibilities - that she left of her own accord or that the company forced her out. Let some time pass and we'll be able to make a better guess based on whether or not she stays with DSP.

 

1. If they forced her out without giving her something in return, like the promise of a re-debut within the next year or something, she'll surely leave DSP and probably find another agency. She didn't work so hard all these years to be shelved like this.

 

2. If they asked her to quit April and gave her a promise in return, we'll see her again soon.

 

3. If she asked to leave because of external problems (such as a sick family member or similar events), the company will expect her to fulfill her contract, so we'll see her again soon.

 

4. If she asked to leave because she didn't want to be an idol anymore, she'd have to pay back the company big time, but then she'll quietly leave the entertainment world and we won't see her again.

 

Whatever the case i hope she's fine, and that she'll be back before long!!!

I'm really sad about somin nowadays. Whenever I see april new material, I wonder how somin would have sang a certain part or how she would have looked in the mv. In a way I can't get behind the girls in April anymore.

 

I was hoping that somin would be in project 101 along with chaekyung and shiyoon but she wasn't. I hope chaekyung and shiyoon do get into the project group as mnet would be sure to promote them very well....

 

I hope somin is doing well and having a very merry christmas.....
