funkycucumber 2,890
These are the true MVPs of the kpop scene. All of them got to where they are now largely by their own efforts, talents, charisma, charms. No big 3 benefit to rely on.

Elle Nova 1,844
where are INFINITE the OG? lol Click here to view the Tweet Click here to view the Tweet Infinite definitely made Woollim richer but the company already had a name before them (thanks to Epik High and Nell, among others) and it wasn't sinking or anything. KARA KARA was big, but DSP was considered a bigger and more influencial agency before their era. They used to be be SM main 'rival'.

Elle Nova 1,844
BigBang ? YG was bankrupt and a nugu company back then with any active Groups or Acts and the one they had weren't hitting big . BigBang saved YG's ass big time YG wasn't bankrupt before Bigbang, and they were far from being a nugu company : They had acts like 1TYM, Jinusean, Big Mama, Wheesung (best selling artist in 2003) and Gummy who were all pretty successful, and debuted Se7en before Bigbang, which brought in good amounts of money too. Bigbang really brought YG to the mainstream and gained its position to the Big 3, and it's not an exageration to say they made what YG is and most of what they own today, but YG was not exactly a struggling no-name before them. Peopletooyoung 47
For people who read about my last article, I talk about H.O.T was the first kpop idol group debuted at 1996. Based on there huge success which has never happened before, SM Entertainment continue to invest money on H.O.T. to make it even bigger. However at that time, The Asian financial crisis reaches Korea, and since then until late 1998, it's the most difficult period for SM Entertainment. Despite that, H.O.T still make enough money for SM Entertainment to overcome this difficult period, otherwise SM Entertainment wouldn't exist today....(as I mentioned before, a lot of talent agency went bankrupt https://onehallyu.com/topic/47676-hot-and-ses-kpop-history-1997/

(be mine comeback) and if this album flopped again INFINITE were gonna disband and woollim would have gone bankrupt . but thankfully this comeback did well and that's how INFINITE started to hit big and that's how woollim started to make 'enough' money. the money epik high and nell made wasn't enough for the company to keep running w/o any problem. if it was then woollim wouldn't have to store their furniture in this tiny practice room. and the members wouldn't be starving during their trainee days. Click here to view the Tweet and their debut mv wouldn't have been filmed in their ceo's house I think I know enough about this matter since I've seen INFINITE struggling because of their company.. edit: and I can say the same for bighit, they had/have 8eight/lee hyun who used to be famous. does that mean bts didn't make bh? Rose. 4,207
Following GFriend since their debut era, the changes within their live performance stages shows how much SouMu has made with the group's popularity. I believe within the first couple years of the group hitting big, SouMu was able to renovate the building https://raahds.blog.me/220710466201
